Only on the OF will you get responses like these.Yeah you guys wouldn't even tell him what he did wrong, you could have told him why you thought he was a bot, which was because he seemed to be walking around aimlessly, and then maybe pointed him the right way. Instead you just kept circlejerking about it. While I would not have reacted the way he did, I would be mad that people seemed to have a problem with what I'm doing and then not tell me. You were rude.
How you can't see the tank was the one going off the deep end here I don't even know.
Also, hope you reported him.
AwwI stated I would not react the way the tank did, I thought it was obvious that meant I didn't agree with how he reacted. But provoking him wasn't nice either. I don't agree with any parties in this situation. They could have simply explained why they thought he was a bot, perhaps he would have said "sorry guys first time here", they could have said it's ok go this way, and everyone would have laughed it off.
Also, if they reported him that would be harrassment. You know why? They refused to heal him. That's harrassment.
Tanks have enough stress without being suspected of being bots. I've never ever run into someone I suspected of being a bot. To assume everyone to be a bot who doesn't say hi or runs around looking like they don't know where theyre going isnt right.

I was having a perfectly normal Tam Tara run on a lower level alt once when the healer started acting like a derp. Can't remember exactly what he was doing but I picked up my keyboard and called him on it. Then he said "oh, I thought you were a bot." It was weird bc I was tanking just fine, marking targets, positioning mobs. I just hadn't said anything bc I don't always have my keyboard on hand, or sometimes I have a cat on my lap and can't reach it to type. To this day I dunno why he thought I was a bot.
Yeah people here have this really weird thing where they think you're rude or a bot if you don't say hi. Sometimes Im kicked back in my chair with my feet up, controller in hand, and don't want to reduce my comfortability just to say hi to some random I'll never see again. If the dungeons going smoothly there's no need for communication, however if someone clearly doesn't know what they're doing or wants explanations I'll usually oblige because i, like I'm sure many do, want in and out as smoothly as possible.
Had he responded like an adult should he'd be given the answer he's looking for, but I cannot imagine anyone taking him seriously after seeing him throw a tantrum out of the blue like some CoD kiddie/internet tough guy.
I was a little too brief with my initial post since I was about to hit the sack but here's a little more detail.
He did not receive any healing cause he was standing around the start (where the Eye passes through) to play keyboard warrior and ate AoEs till he died then spends the next 10 mins at spawn calling people dicks and faggots while the healer already moved on to burning mobs in the "first room" with us (we cleared that whole part without him - hence I've only said a few words the whole run), so who is the one harassing now?
What he did: Popping defensive CDs so early that it falls off by the time he reaches the mob, moves in strange 360 degree patterns when engaged with enemies + using abilities and moving at odd paces/directions in general. His gearing was a bit funny as well but I figured we'd only lose out a bit of damage at most so I didn't care.
We got paired with a tank bot the day before and it had similar traits. Despite all that, it was workable since these dungeons aren't punishing for little things like that anyway (we got the bot at Qarn, and we got him to stand on the right pads by messing up the boss aggro).
And no, I disagree with the last part, tanks don't have a lot of stress (main tank here). Tanks have access to instant queues for the majority of the game content and are known for raging and getting away with vile attitudes, we have their apologists to thank for feeding their Kardashian/West egos and enabling a number of them to play at appalling levels.

Wait.... I thought it was only the first person to leave a duty that got the penalty O.o Or did they change that when I wasn't looking? (Or have I misunderstood how it's worked the entire time? xD)
And I'd like to disagree with you. I main WAR, but I very rarely go into DF solo on tank, due to how so many people like to dictate how tanks should do their job, without any regard to what said tank is comfortable with. On healer (my secondary is SCH)... No problem. I'll deal with most any party compositions and preferred speeds. But I've more often run into diva healers and/or dps as a tank than I've run into diva tanks as a healer. This includes dps or healers pulling for me, or enforcing speedruns, or mocking me for being 'bad' or 'unable to hold aggro' when I'm the lowest allowed level for the dungeon in question and the others are synched down. *shrugs*And no, I disagree with the last part, tanks don't have a lot of stress (main tank here). I'm not saying there are no diva tanks; there are plenty of them. But saying that tanks don't have a lot of stress... it may be true for you, but definitely not for everyone. =) And especially new tank players have a lot of pressure from the rest of the group when it comes to performance.
Anyway...
I had a slightly annoying run today in VA. Night before reset, admittedly, which does tend to bring out the less appealing groups, but...
First of all, we had five casters in our party (which was more amusing than annoying). Unfortunately, it seemed several of them either didn't remember/know the mechanics or they were too focused on their DPS output to dodge AoEs properly. There was a healer in one of the other teams who pulled the first boss, and it seemed my team was the only one who went for adds, judging how they all seemed to have aggro (not the random rush attacks, but the "selected target") on someone from my team ^^; But that might just be because I wasn't paying good enough attention.
Came close to wiping on that boss with people dropping linebombs in the middle of the group, turning the boss around to cleave half the alliance, fun things like that. But we somehow managed.
Some general but on-going bragging in /alliance, tempting me to go "just zip your e-peens up instead of waving them in our faces, please", but I didn't. Because that would most likely have set them off even more ^^;
And there was some tank confusion. Partly on my side, since I'd been awake for close to 18 hours and my brain was starting to resemble a pink, wet dishrag that's been left in the sink for a few days. But I'd managed to fix it in my head that I was in team B by the time we got to the second boss, so it was all good. Or so I thought. But then one of the other tanks started provoking things off of me (or just generally overtaking my aggro before I've gotten two combos in, due to having a better weapon) -- probably because they'd designated themself as the MT. Fine, that's all good. In all honesty, I prefer being OT -- gives me more uptime on debuffs. I figured I'd just go on the side of the MT's party (since B is generally in the middle and "back in my day" defaulted to take the middle mobs/adds) and focus on grabbing them adds.
Cue the last boss... where I'm doing the same. Keeping my eyes trained on Echidna's cast bar to not miss Petrifaction. Grab one snake... and realize that the MT is suddenly pulling the other snake to the same spot, instead of taking baby Echidna in the "tank spot". Think quickly enough to drag my snake off to break the line, and catch sight of a comment in /a chat about B not being C... and realize only then that someone's been placing waymarks (after the fight started, I think), switching team places around O.o So the MT was tanking in a blank spot, and A taking the middle and B taking A's side.... unless I got completely turned around while dodging, which is a possibility. I don't even bother to respond, because I'm busy trying to focus and don't want to get sidetracked into an argument of any kind, and just keep track of the B waymark from then on.
@_@ So. Much. Chaos. (Pun not intended.) But at least I got a new pair of gloves.
(It probably also didn't help that I've tanked that place a grand total of three times; the rest of the times I've healed it ^^; Not to mention I've been taking an almost two-week-long break due to holidays, so I'm a bit rusty.)
Perhaps because 2-3 seconds before I leave, a healer came in. Reset, I think o.o
Anyway, for now only leveling with fate. I do not be good dps to do roulette. And I need new video card to be a healer of average skill.
