By transform, I'd assume that they mean in the same way the pickaxe transforms.

I mean there's a huge honking hinge that attaches the lower half of the bow to the instrument. How the device locks into position without coupling under the strain of the string, is a complete mystery, but I'm going to go ahead and say it's magic.

This, and pardon the crappy drawing i've done, but essentially this is my thoughts on how the "Barp" or "How" works.
