GTX-960 or higher.

GTX-960 or higher.
The nvidia 950. Is what my hubby is using. ~$200 CND. he has max settings getting 40-60 FPS everywhere.
I have an Nvidia 770, Max setting 40-60 FPS everywhere but Lost city of Amdapor keep.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!

Make sure you got all the latest drivers installed. Check if your graphics card is not thermal throttling, as your model isn't old per-say, but it maybe growing a beard. Not sure what kind of pc you're running, but it might be a good idea to dust it out. Also check any background programs that may be running, this can be done easily by just looking at your task manager and looking at how much cpu/ram other programs are running with.
Also what settings are running at? Information is kinda sketchy here, need more source to cover the dog.

Right....but which one?
Phenom II X6 1045t->1100t (2.6Ghz->3.3Ghz
FX 6100 - 6150
FX 6300 - 6350
All have varying degrees of performance and all will give low FPS in crowded areas due to AMD's low per core performance.
But other than crowded areas your system should play fine on Max up to 1080p Resolution and a newer Graphics card wont fix that.
You could just search for Final Fantasy XIV System Information in your start menu's search box, run it, then choose copy to clipboard. Come back to the forums and paste the copied information into the forum reply.
This will tell us all we need to know about your computers specs including its Processor, RAM, version of windows, etc. These things really help to know to make an informed decision on a graphics card.
Alternatively, you could just take a screen shot of your benchmark window and post it here too.. Gives the same info but more concise.

vishara is my cpu

Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Minimum Requirements
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 3GHz or AMD equivalent
Video Card: NVIDIA Geforce 8800 or higher, ATI Radeon HD 4770 or higherTo summarize - the IPC of the FX 6300 (Vishera) is very close to that of the Core 2 Duo 8300. So while you have above the Recommended GPU for FFXIV to run smooth at Max Settings @ 1080p, your CPU is only equivalent to the minimum specs for optimal performance.Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Recommended Requirements
CPU: Intel Core-i5 2.66GHz or AMD Equivalent
Video Card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660 or higher, AMD Radeon HD 7950 or higher
The Recommended CPU is the i5 750, which has roughly 15% higher IPC than the FX 6300. The game will run well due to the FX 6300 having 6 Cores over the 4 Core i5 750, but when it comes to loading multiple character data, the FX 6300 will get bogged down on a single core and bottleneck the rest of the system.
By running the game on the lowest settings it automatically reduces the amount of character data that gets loaded making the game run smoother with higher minimum framerates.
If you would like to compare Benchmarks to make sure there is nothing else going on with your system, here is a Bench of my GTX 760 which has very similar performance to the GTX 660 ti.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If your system gets close to that benchmark score, then there are a couple things you can do to make the game run smoother in crowded areas:
Go to System -> System Configuration -> Graphic Settings
* Set Graphics Settings to Maximum -> Click Apply and you will see your FPS Drop (Top Right Hand Corner)
* Check the Box for - Disable Rendering of Objects when not Visible
* Check the Box for - Use low-detail models on distant objects
Go to -> Other Settings
* Change Character and Object Quantity to between Minimum and Normal.
Then check to see how your FPS are in crowded areas as that will be the most straining area.

Bought a Geforce 970. I get 54-60fps in Idyllshire. Mind you, the other parts in your pc might bottleneck. I also have 16gb of DDR4 ram and a Intel i5 6600 @ 3.3ghz.

Go with a gtx 970 if you want best bang for your buck. If you have a bigger budget, then definitely hold out and grab a gtx 980ti. It will push high settings at even 4k resolution.

using an overclocked Gtx980 4gb card.simply awesome.
