Fairly simple. ._. 1) The person who needs repaired has to be carrying Dark matter of the correct tier 2) You will be charged half of what an NPC would charge you for a normal repair, even if the repair is over 100%.

I admit I've done it on accident myself, go in with about 10% or less on accessories, luckily able to remedy that as I always carry stacks of dark matter. However I can't see how it would hurt, simple right-click of someone "Repair armor", don't even need to ask, if we want to repair your gear for free then let us.
i'm saying wqhy they got rid of it nothing more or less.Sooooo... eliminate game features because a few asshats might resort to asshattery? You can't eliminate mean people and completely neutering a game to make it impossible for anyone to exploit anything and taking all the fun out it isn't the answer. The one place repairing other peoples gear would really come in handy is for progression, when you're already in a group of people you know.
Personally responsibility would be a much better solution. Remember to repair your gear if you don't want a 2% chance of some rando in DF trying to extort you for repairs.
I completely 100% support the idea of repairing someone else's gear btw, if that wasn't abundantly clear.
if you don't mind paying 20K for low lvl repairs idc lol. it wasn't just a minority, look up past threads from 2.0 launch about crafters and fees. might. I'm not for or against this as my b/f is a crafter and we run dungeons together.
this feature being put back in isn't worth the drama. It was stupid havong to shout to cafters to repair gear back in early 2.0. all the crafters making silly commwnts of "i spent x amount of time and gil to level this i can charge what i want (even thought is like 10x the worth) they changed how repair npc work due to this. before repair npc didn't fix ur gear just slightly repaired it.
may wanna actually look up the old threads about this before asking for it
it was removed for a reason

I keep, like, 3 stacks of G6 dark matter on me at all times. If I could repair other people's gear mid-dungeon or mid-raid, I'd do it.
You did, in fact, say more. It was the "trust me its not worth it." I was commenting on.
The fundamental basis for your argument is outdated and therefore irrelevant. NPCs repair gear to 100% and are located in every major area. No one will be shouting for repairs or paying 20k for them. And I personally wouldn't be paying for repairs because I have my crafting leveled enough to repair my own gear. I'd also be one of the large number of people that would repair for free as dark matter is cheap.
There's no point in looking up old threads operating under outdated information. It'd be like going back and looking up a 2.0 SMN rotation that included thunder. (See, I can throw around the "I've been here forever" thing too.)
And if you want to say you're not for or against it, don't turn around and contradict that with saying its not worth the drama to put it back in.
There will be no drama; the game has changed since then.

Back in 1.0, where using the repair npc to repair lv 50 gear cost around 50k gil and only repaired it to 50%, 1k gil as a repair payment to a crafter was cheap.
Also, a crafter can repair your gear now by 100%, not just to 100%. And I'm sure that many crafters will be happy enough if they get the dark matter back as a payment.

Please bring it back. Were do I sign the petition?
i remember doing this in 1.0 for alot of new players... best of all, did it for free. My way of contributing to new players so they can save gil. I didn't notice it had been removed after returning to the game till I saw this thread. I guess that would explain why no one asks for repairs in raids that have failed multiple times.
Yes please....
If you ask for a tip in the only place this would be used (in instances), then you're an idiot.
And on the off chance you do repair someone's gear in the overworld, and you ask for a tip that is more than it would cost to just use the NPC mender? You are also an idiot.
There's no negative to this feature.
