Although its not, the day that Dark Knight gets jump... (because there is no doubt in my mind) that is what the character in the back is doing (his belt is getting lifted from the wind as he descends the jump) plus classic jump poses, they are really similar to this one.

That leg is always up, has to be jumping therefore has to be Dragoon, is this not enough conclusive evidence to end the dark knight possibility. Also not to mention why the hell would someone hold the scythe like that? The blade is usually above you, not below you.

Also its not really "different" its about the same different as the MAR's viking/beastmaster/warrior/beserker and the GLA's paladin attires.

You've never seen a scythe held with the blade near the ground and pointed in the opposite direction? Its one of the one dudes stances from Soul Caliburn 4.... You also cant see any ground under any of them, so maybe they are all jumping. The character in question being 'on top' could just be some place to put it so everyone fits.

Except for the fact that his belt is 'flapping' (what looks like to be a spear head behind him, its his belt in the wind because he is getting ready to land on the ground). Also you can see the casting 'aura wind' on the White Mage as well (its why she looks disproportional and mangled from the middle when in fact she is just leaning back and casting magic).

Sorry, its not a dark knight, and its not a Scythe.

Except for the fact that his belt is 'flapping' (what looks like to be a spear head behind him, its his belt in the wind because he is getting ready to land on the ground). Thats not a belt, thats one of the spike thingies on the back of his armor. Theres no belt flapping.

He has a belt, look at that image then look at the official design concept, the things near his waist as part of a belt that hang normally but they are not at the moment because there is resistance from the 'wind' as gravity pulls the dragoon back to the ground. I don't know how to be more logical than this and if you fail to see this then well, bless your soul.

Anyone can come and 'complete the weapon' in the form of a scythe too. It could also be a halberd, or a guisine, or a pickaxe. Maybe he is one epic miner? lol. None of them are falling and theres still no 'flapping' belt.

1) I've never seen a scythe that small. Not to mention the fact that they are standing in a dragoon pose. The way the character is standing in that picture is completely identical to the typical dragoon pose throughout the series, and the weapon is held the exact same way.

2) BOTANIST HAS SCYTHE, get it through your heads that they're not "adding a scythe" because scythe is already in the game. As a garden tool. Which is what a scythe is. A war scythe on the other hand is completely different, and MUCH LARGER than what that character is holding. That stupid little "wing" on the spear that you're assuming is a scythe would better off act as a toenail clipper. Do you not know what a scythe looks like?

Edit: Fun fact for people who think scythes make good weapons. They don't. People think that because the Grim Reaper, Death himself is all badass because he carries a scythe and therefore it would make a good video game weapon do not have the slightest grasp on reality. You try picking up a scythe and pretend to attack with it. The Grim Reaper holds a scythe as a metaphor, because he "harvests souls", and as the scythe is an agricultural tool to harvest grains, he just so happens to carry one. The Grim Reaper isn't going to come cut off your head with a scythe.

Real scythes have very rarely been used as a weapon. War scythes look nothing like they often do in video games. The ones that come up in games such as FFXI are not supposed to be weapons and could pretty much almost never be used as a weapon. Those scythes are what botanists use, naturally. They are not going to mimic that scythe into a primary weapon as that would look ridiculous when you have a gardener who uses it to harvest and you have the stupid emo characters who wanna look like the Grim Reaper walk around with a damn crescent hoe.
