Suggestions to fix Housing

After basically seeing how the land grab happened on Balmung and apparently across other servers too I'm recommending some changes be done to the house system.

FCs can only own one house same with Personal House. If they want to have another house they must make another FC and obtain a certain rank level to purchase a house. The reasoning behind this is to stop people from price gouging the housing market and give players a chance to buy a house at fair market value. This would also fix the issues on Legacy servers where the prices are so high that small FCs or people who casually play can't even afford a house.

There should be preset housing on the lots that require you to purchase a permit to perhaps upgrade or alter the look. This way the lots are filled with a house. The whole buying the plot then having to buy a permit to even build is crazy. You might as well start charging a monthly mortgage on these houses based off their location while you're at it.

I've played LOTRO where they do have housing. It's not the best housing but the system isn't like this at all. It made housing available to anyone even those who are currently F2P. They made neighborhoods to accommodate the demand and also have a system that will evict players that go dormant for too long. A system like this should be looked into. Why? Because not everyone is some hardcore player. Many are casual players that take time out to play for a few hours in this game and some simply just want to enjoy all aspects of the game like the housing, chocobo breeding and gardening without being gated left and right. It's alienating players like myself who don't have all the time in the world to grind out gil to purchase a house and even if I or my FC had the funds we can't even buy one now due to the current system allowing players/FCs to buy up all lots available. This needs to be fixed.

So someone is willing to spend more money on alt accounts for this game to gouge the housing? What a waste of real money. If that's the case then let people buy their houses via mogstation and be done with it as an alternative to this fiasco of housing.

The house I assume is also bound to the account if they bought one on their main? Or is that not the case?

Allow people to buy and sell houses and the plots via Market Board. Prices will stabilize after a few weeks and will probably sell at the constant price which will reflect the server's demand and supply. The trick about the economy is that sellers will not charge more gil for an item than what buyers can afford.

Then that definitely needs to change to one per account by server. That would be exactly how an entire FC can buy up all the plots and disrupt the market.

Sadly that isn't the case with the "Legacy" servers which is why everything is so expensive on them. The transfers of those with their legacy players tipped the balance of the markets on the legacy servers and thus the chaotic market value of the houses and auction houses.

The prices are so inflated that anyone that wasn't a legacy was left with no chances of getting items they would need or be able to purchase a house. The housing prices alone were based off the economy of the servers which is why people complained about pricing on the legacy servers. It's already bad enough I can't even get friends over to Balmung to join the FC I do have but I'm not about to uproot from the server due to that. The other 'RP' server is also closed to new characters too.
