I'm not arguing your point at all, I agree that it will attract people who want to disrupt others play with false information. But, I would like to ask this as a general question, is there another word we could use for these kinds of people besides 'troll'. Something like 'jerks' perhaps, or stronger. I just feel like people who purposefully waste another players time in a game, or worse still, make their time miserable are not simply trolls, they really are abusive jerks and deserve to be labeled as such.

to the point where they can enter end-game, they no longer need that kind of mentor. That would be when players in the end-game community who can and want to make time to act as a mentor can take on the new player and help them progress into the End-game. It is in a sense horses for courses.

I find it sad that you think that way. You and I clearly do not play the same game.
Maat was a level unlock fight which you could do at level 66-70, if you never beat him you couldn't get to max level (75)

It was very loosely a know your class quest, where in reality it was silly easy. The rdm strat was pretty much silence nuke nuke sleep when he chainspells nuke nuke win....

Whilst he was a very helpful guy, he knew nothing about rdm all.

Lots of assumptions and no real citations. Opinions are nice and all but I think the mentor system may help some players. The fact that someone 'feels' it might be abused is relevant in opinion but not so much within the reality of the system that just like any other system in the game could be abused. Using fear to impose your will onto others isn't exactly an admirable point of argument. Either way if you don't like it then you don't have to do it. Let the people who do it leverage their complaints, they are not weapons for your cause.

Also in the interest of objectivity, we do not prove "what is not" but rather "what is" meaning simply if you make a claim that it will be abused then it falls on you to show that with proof, not your opposition.

LOL, OK I think I understand now. It was straightforward if you knew your job well. It'd be like when people ran Titan HM and no one stacked and no one interrupted Tumult, and...well you get my drift.

I hope this can be used to level classes quickly. I hate the slow leveling in this game. :P

Honestly, I love the mentoring system in EQ2.

    Mentor:
You become the level of the player and lose 80% of all experience.

    Your Mentored Target:
Gains a significant amount of experience for everything, except quests.

This would be amazing for power leveling if it was implemented. Such a simple and fun system.

That's simple, there asshole, jerk, maybe Kefka (insult the jerks by comparing them to one of the franchise's most sadistic villains).

Teaching the newbies to do speedrun is actually a good suggestion because 80% of the endgame players want to do it that way. If they know how to do it quick, they're not gonna get bullied in their future adventures.

Learn to walk before you go running through waving your sword around perhaps?

I don't even have a walk/run toggle key on my keyboard. Why do you want to move slower?
