Because we're already playing a game that you play on your downtime for most people, and also it's a game that will zip you from the depths fighting Bahamut to a rip in space/time fighting an Ascian, then to a ghost pirate airship, three levels of a tower with one being in another dimension, and inside a giant metal robot, but it can't park us beside our race birds or to where we can command some minions to romp around.

Also, they really should start introducing a DF option for these and perhaps enforce it for tournaments; Sure, it lessens the aspect of the tournament being amongst potential peers in the same server, but then again it just makes it a different kind of tournament.

So, everyone should just idle in Idyllshire waiting for DF to pop? Why even make this a real MMORPG, let's just make the game more client heavy and use instanced lobbies and instanced duties instead? That's kind of what you are saying. Isn't part of the game experience going to the places to do the things? I'm pretty sure that it used to be.

You usually have to wait in a queue, though, and I wouldn't call sitting alone in the LoV lobby a fun experience. If participation was always instant then having to actually go to the place wouldn't be as bad of an idea.

Honestly, I wish we had *more* content that wasn't in the normal Duty Finder. I liked that the original Chimera and Hydra fights weren't tied to the Duty Finder--it gave them a sense of actually belonging in the world in a way that isn't really the case with just about everything else.

I very nearly didn't start playing this game because of the addition of the Duty Finder, honestly. I still love the game, but I do prefer the immersive nature of games that don't have it.
