How do you know what is considered BiS?
I mean, I know I want CC, And Det, so anything with both of those is a go to?

basically maximising the stats you want, and making sure they are capped after the sync, is BiS
os drg/pld/war/etc generally have crit det as BiS, astro is generally crit/pie and blm is crit/ss
Keep in mind as well that the item level sync is applied after the morale bonuses. So you are brought up to 210 and then sync'd back down to 150. This makes a small difference even in Frontlines, because, depending on the piece of gear in question and the secondary stat bonuses it has, some gear will place you slightly lower than the stat cap after the lvl sync, especially if the gear has otherwise useless secondary PvP stats (like Accuracy). PvP gear, on the other hand, will place you at cap as long as you are using it in the proper combination.
Before SE started handing out lvl 210 gear like it was an early Christmas, this actually amounted to a fairly sizable difference. the attack power of a player in a PvP set was above that of an equal player running in a PvE set, because their secondary stats were PvP tuned (High Det/Crit. Low Acc/Parry) and the ilvl sync benefited PvP gear stats by placing them closer to the stat cap instead of just below it. However, now that the average item level of PvE gear is meeting PvP Morale bonuses (again, in the proper combinations only) the difference is far less noticeable. If i remember correctly, Tanks see the biggest stat gains, but it's not a big difference in practice anymore.
Wolves Den, however, is a different story. If SE finally releases the Wolves Den update they've been promising for a while now, there will be no question as to which gear is better in that game mode. Morale and Materia bonuses on PvP gear will far exceed the PvE stats, even at a difference in ilvl.
Is there a way I can look up stat caps? Especially for iLvl 150.

I would assume just look at a item level 150 piece of gear.

Ideally a HQ Ilvl 150 item. I think that's what it syncs down to.
Ok, how can I check what I'm at when I sync down? Just get into Frontlines and do it during the beginning phase?
