I was very curious what happens with Gaol but now I see the players just lets it do the damage because it is survivable un-synced now.

Just as a heads-up, although you didn't specify what kind of content you'd wish to duo, none of the currently relevant content is really duoable. Following the story you will need to queue in 4 and 8 person instances. For old content (as in up to level 50 content when you're both already level 60), you can duo some of it for fun but apart from the few relic quest dungeons there isn't much benefit for doing that.

its mostly a "for fun" thing since we enjoy playing just us 2 when possible, dont suppose things like coil and CT are duo-able?

Some of coil is likely duoable, the 24 man raids definitely not
