Most of the technology is Imperial or Allagan. It would be jarring to have something like this bike made widely available to the adventurers of Eorzea en masse, while the NPCs go around in chocobo-drawn carts.

Not to mention the practical issue of the spedometer being permanently fixed at derpspeed

Everyone gets a magitek reaper at the end of the 2.0 MSQ, everyone can get a neurolink key if they recruit some friends, everyone can buy more magitek reapers off the cash shop, everyone gets personal airships through the MSQ, anyone can get a magitek ADS mount through pvp.

Sorry, we already have really 'high tech' mounts.

And my reply to you both is something I've said like three times now:

Original bike with Ironworks design and lore. Make it look vintage so the derp speed isn't so annoying.

I'd like new content and ideas, please. I don't want FFXIV to be flooded with reused content from old games. Honestly, the occasional vet glamor is MORE than enough.

ETA: Everyone's been ignoring the reason it was scrapped: the speed issue. We didn't get to see the animation - I bet is was legitimately terrible. I could image, anyway

We could just steal one from the Garlean or even the blueprint of one of these bikes during a future MSQ kinda like what we did with the black Magitex armor.

Or hell if its actually Allagan technology we could have a sidequest involving one of those ( still closed ) facilities in Azys lla that needs to be explored only to find out that a single unfinished prototype was stored inside. Bring it back to Garlond Ironworks HQ, let em fix it and put their seal on it and bam we get to use it.


Also as i said in another thread regarding mounts and lore is that the lore breaking line has already been crossed with... Sleipnir.

So let the ppl who dont mind it get this mount. Haters be damned. Nobody is forcing you to get it aswell.

Well, this /is/ the lore. There /is/ tech in the world, there /is/ science. It is not some dark ages levels of high-fantasy technology, we have very high tech sci-fi stuff in the world. Very high tech. You have to accept that this tech exists and not just go "lalala not listening i want super high fantasy only"

As for the speed thing, my fat, overweight chocobo and a turtle run at the same speed as my mythological kirin of legend so IDK what to say on that front.
