I haven't bought anything from the cash shop, but I'd buy that in a heartbeat; then I'd have two Fenrir mounts ^..^
If they were to add a bike, I would expect it to be Magitek or Allagan made, think I'd be ok with this. But this, something that looks far beyond the years of XIV's setting, is just wrong. It ruins the feel. It looks out of place and most certainly hideous.
Well seeing as garleans have massive airships, and magitech, a bike like this wouldn't be that far fetched, eorzea is like the middle of nowhere, where we all still use birds to fly around on
It's a sexy bike. But it won't fit in the medieval world of FFXIV. It looks hideous in Eorzea. It hurts to say but I'm glad they ditched it and we will not see it. They showed the video to explain to us why this item won't fit here. If we put this item in Eorzea we may also put Cars, Asphalt Highroads, modern cities etc. It won't fit very well. However I can see such mounts when we can go to Garlemand. The high tech of Garlean empire and their iron cities can provide the industrial environment where such an item can exist. I can already imagine their steampunk iron cities. Eorzea is a weird place.
I accepted a flying fat chocobo, this is nothing in comparison.
lets not forget in this world we have people on giant plant monsters dragons walking robots and ancient flying spheres, :P i love how a bike is just to much for some.
see if they said they shelf this, until 4.0 (which most believe we will be going to ala megho and garlamald) it would be fine, lore wise they could have it behind a quest in azys lia, from the idle imperial or even from one of the allagan machinery. It's a sexy bike. Seems it was only a quick WIP/mockup design, 'just because we can' so to say.
But if they would whip it out properly and give it more work, that might be something to see as part of a FF7 Remake release event.

Honestly, please don't.
It looks cheesy, it breaks immersion, it derps along at chocobo speed.
But mainly because this is Hydaelyn, not Gaia, or for that matter Vana'diel or Gran Pulse. I will be first in line to advocate for allusions to prior titles as a long-time fangirl of the franchise, but they are allusions primarily because each universe is new, disparate, its own. Too much of a good thing and Eorzea stops being Eorzea and starts being FFUniverse-Fanboy-central. Blah
I would welcome, as a compromise, a unique steam-punky magitek bike that looked vintage enough to not be perceived as jarringly underperforming when comparing its speed to its composition/capabilities. It wouldn't break immersion any more than a manacutter. Ironworks, get on that, kthx.
