Absolutely agree with this 100%. It would also solve the problem of having to store holiday housing items on retainers and give people yet more motivation to complete the content, since they may be able to use the furnishings on any houses they acquire in the future which is a huge bonus.

I've bought multiple furnishing items, such as the wall paper, and stored them. However, due to the fact you lose the wallpaper upon using them you're either forced to lose it forever or to have your house seasonal all year round. It's seasonal for a reason, for a SEASON. It's silly that items like this can't be removed. I now currently have an extra character made just so I can hold multiple event items because currently I have 5 Retainers with NOTHING but furnishings I can't get rid of or I lose them forever.

Buying multiples during the event doesn't fix the issue.
It will never fix the issue.

OP, totally agree. The furniture , minions, etc should be on the calamity salvager if you completed the event.
the dream attire (Dream hat, Dream Tunic and Dream boots) are tradable, and on the calamity salvager. I've been handing them out to people that want it.

I'm not 100% crazy about the Calamity Salvager idea, but I agree that old seasonal event housing items should be obtainable via some way in game. I think they should let you purchase/quest them during the events... but adding items to the Calamity Salvager wouldn't be bad either if that's what they choose to do.

I think the best solution is what's been mentioned in this thread earlier...

If you completed the event then you can buy unique/untradeable versions of the furnishings from the salvager.

That way people who still want to sell them to new players & what not can still make a profit by storing up & selling them while the rest of us who just want to be able to decorate with the items we did the events for can just go repurchase them when its in season & not be forced to store them when we don't plan on selling them.

Where's the harm in that SE?

I agree honestly, I really don't have a problem with people selling them again. I mean, is it a bit ridiculous that the Dream Set sells for like 50k+ when it costs like 30gil to get from the NPC? Sure. However, this is just the price someone should have to pay in order to get the event item that they didn't get to participate in doing in the past. One thing that bothers me is that the ended up resorting to the cash shop for some items. The dream tunic/hat/boots were perfectly fine resell-able and then they changed the rest of the gear just so they can make a quick buck off the player base. The Cash Shop should be reserved for unique items that the game DOESN'T already have implemented from a past quest. Maybe that's just me.

I'm not asking them to make untradeable versions, we can't help the state the game is in now regarding old event items such as the reindeer suit that is in the cash shop. However, what they haven't added yet, from the past events should EASILY be placed in game. We deserve it. We as the player who has participated in ALL of these events should have this option.

At the VERY least, they should all event items accessible by the player base, be it in the cash shop or via buying from the Calamity Salvager if you've COMPLETED the event in the past. There's a HUGE difference between exclusive special gear/items, and event items that are resell-able by the public. I don't understand why they're putting such ridiculous restrictions at a marketboard-able item.

I vehemently disagree. It disgusts me whenever I see dev time wasted on making something they're going to charge us extra for, despite us already paying a monthly fee. Ideally, previous year's event gear should be available for in-game purchase during the event (like the 1.0 gear was during the first year of 2.0 events), but at least the current system allows new players to obtain the old event gear if they really want it, and doesn't effect consistent players at all.
