Company Seals for your own chocobo THATS IT?!

It is sad to recognize, but most of the XI crowd confuse rewarding/hard with "time consuming for no apparent reason" (I love FFXI, but man...). A rented chocobo is not meant to be "Hard" to have access to, it is just that.. a Rental that is gone after ten minutes...

Again, the personal chocobos will require several Grand companies quest to acquire, so please look forward to that.

Darkhold has nothing to do with chocobos...

yes it does, you earn seals which you have to use to get the chocobo.

sure there willbe other quest and seals, i jsut used DH as an example cause it alone will give enough to get the choc.

i have 4750 seals, without DH i wouldnt have enough for the chocobo.

I apologize, your response seemed a bit ignorant to me. It has already been confirmed this is just the first step in Chocobo content, breeding, fighting alongside chocobos, walking alongside chocobos will be implemented at a later date. The notes even went to the trouble of specifying all chocobos released now are Male.

So, knowing all of that, and still saying the game is "easy mode" and alluring the Dev Team could not come up with something better, tells me you are complaining about the current implementation of Chocobos in its entirety, which includes Rental and Personal Chocobos. Making my response relevant to your ignorant post.

You get 1k seals free for officially becoming a recruit of one of the companies. That's probably enough for you to get your chocobo without doing DH. What more, the introduction of repeatable 'caravan defense' company quests will likely provide additional seals as well.

I'm sure they will make you do a quest...
you will prob have to run to each city and talk to an npc who will each say 1 line along the lines of
"So ah hurr yew wuntz a chucobocos.... kewlz..."
or
"hurr durr i liek mudkipz"

then you'll have to run back! (or you know... insta port)

and get your chocobo..

I mean at least if they make it like every other quest in the game thats what it will be like.

We don't even know what quests we'll have to complete to rank up to be able to get it, and already we're having people whine. It seems some of you don't like the fact that everyone will be able to acquire one.

No matter what anyone says, it is dumb that there is no chocobo-specific quest prior to receiving a personal chocobo. There needs to be something to bridge the gap between absolutely no chocobos, and now millions of chocobos so that anyone can achieve on merely with grand company currency. Plus, if its your personal chocobo, shouldn't there be some quest (like those mentioned earlier in thread) in which you develop a bond between your chocobo?

This has nothing to do with the obstacles of level requirement to achieve, rank in grand company, or number of seals. There still should be a simple story-driven quest that patches up the aforementioned shortage and/or how you chose your specific chocobo.
