Has anyone got healer tips? > SCH mainly

Hi, I'm picking up healing due to the lack of healers & see a substantial difference in healing capability. Was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on how to get better?

    Some things I currently do
    - Using Field Commander items, is this ideal? Been recommended it.
    - Using Adloqium as main heal
    - Stoneskinning/ Protecting whenever there's a breather
    - Maintaining Aetherflow: Priority Lustrate > Sacred Soil > Indomitability

What should be priority targets be?
Thinking myself/ other healer (Whoever is better) > Best Tank/DPS (Battle Fever/ Battle High)

    When should I pop Attunement/ Focalization/ Equanimity?
I'm using Attunement as a time delay tactic.
Focalization as a buff for incoming pinches/ attacks.
I currently use Equanimity to burst/focus heal.

How important is Selene/Eos and which is more efficient in PVP?
I've been alternating both out of boredom. Would Dissipation be worth it for burst healing or is Eos/Selene alive better overall in PVP?

If you have any other key tips/ tactics and are willing to share, please do & thanks

My first thought was about why you would possibly use that set for anything but glamour, because it has zero secondary stats on it, but then I realized that without cleric stance there may be some benefit to having INT on gear as a healer for the occasional dot (or to steal kills with Energy Drain or Ruin II). :|a

    Could use some numbers here.

Me? I just use 180 + gear on the left side (not Diadem gear; secondary stats are still broken in PVP last I checked) and all VIT accessories on the right as long as they grant det and/or crit. i.e. no skill speed or accuracy pieces. The rest are healer accessories. Bonus points in VIT. (having 2~3K more health than everyone has come in handy many times).

Everything else sounds about how I play, with the additional note that I try to save Swiftcast for Blizzard II to get away from melee or to trap people trying to run away from a rush, depending on where I am in the charge.

Do not go full VIT on your right side, you'll set yourself up for needing that extra HP when you don't need it at all. One VIT ring + three PvP points to VIT is all you need.

depends if you get attacked 1 vit ring wont help you against a lb. I think 3 are okay tbh I go full vit alot just to survive 3 lbs ez

1 Vit ring most certainly WILL help you from a LB if you play a SCH.

Just make sure you always have stoneskin and adloquium yourself before any engagements.

Make sure you know when to use attunement. Keep your aetherflow stacks up and do not forget dissipate. Dissipate is extremely useful in PVP.

As long as you have stoneskin, you can adloquium yourself and maintain full damage mitigation. Basically no single DPS has any chance of killing you unless they know how to time their stuns between bursting.

I played a lot of matches with 1vit ring and yes you survive a lb but tbh only if you have full hp and even then you are most likely dead before you can lustrate yourself. I really recommend 3vit accessories if you go 1 vit it certainly won't help you if ppl know how to lb or if someone else attack you. ^

I almost exclusively play Sch in PvP so I can offer some advice, atleast from my experience (~920 games, half of which healing)

Field Commander set is alright, I maybe used it for a day, the only thing special you get from it is INT. (INT build Sch is fun if you're REALLY bored, but honestly pretty useless) But if it's working for you, keep using it. Adlo spam is king, the only time I'm not using adlo is if either: I have them shielded and want them topped off (and they shield won't be removed during my cast) or... actually yeah I can't remember any other reason to use physick or something. Mana generally isn't an issue save for long engagements.

I personally don't use sacred soil, it's not worth the stack and it assumes people will actually be inside of it, which is very rare. In an average fight, per aetherflow it's most likely just a spread of 2 lustrate 1 indom.

Priority targets should always be highs/fevers, pocket heal those suckers, they're (fevers) worth something like 25 or 30 points I don't remember, so my mentality is that if I die to get them out it's still worth it (obviously life is good when nobody dies), if your co healer is in trouble lend them a hand, but honestly unless it's a WHM I kinda just say to myself "meh save yourself" because AST and SCH are more than capable of handling upwards of 5 people on them at any time.

I use 2 VIT accesories and food, I just am only comfortable with over 11k hp, and no it does not hinder my healing done, I very often am the second highest healer in the game behind my premade co healer (WHM). If you are on PC get in the habit of clicking attune off, if you are on controller use the macro /statusoff "Attunement" to do so. Attune is great, but the only reason I will EVER use it for the full 10 seconds is if I absolutely NEED more time on my cooldowns and I'm getting completely focused. 95% of my attunes will be cancelled out of early (most players will not expect it, i primarily use attune for an on spot invincibility vs LB chains or deathflares)
Focal is beast, I just about use it on CD.
Equanimity is a little more situational, because of adlo and lustrate you will be getting interrupted (or having that affect you) very seldom, unless it's a battle high or fever having 1-2 players on you shouldn't be an issue, but it's usually a good time to use equa assuming: You cannot surecast an adlo onto yourself, or kite into the backline, You have no lustrates, or few left. I use Equa when im like, "ehh im getting a little uncomfortable and my party needs healing". But yeah I use it when I'm under slightly above average pressure (2-3 people, or a fever)

Your pet! Your fairy is for eating!... sort of. I never use selene, as much as i want a reason, I can't find one. The only thing i can think of is Fey Caress to self esuna sleep but that requires her to be on sic, which means that will probably be on CD thanks to the AI. Eos awesome, she gives you your only aoe regen, another focalization and a healing steroid when the going gets tough, every one of her skills is useful. In terms of using dissipation, I love that skill, It's a necessity for getting away from large groups (being chased by them) and if your party is under a lot of pressure those 3 stacks are gonna take you a lot further than an Eos only using embrace (assuming you already dumped her skills). But yeah I use dissipate a lot.

Hope I could offer some help.

edit: someone above mentioned bliz 2 so now i feel inclined to mention my GOD I love blizz 2. That skill is MVP

Definitely helped! This was what I was looking for, thank you

Do you mind sharing what gear you are using then? I'm considering buying White Griffin just for healing as I don't mind the Wolf Marks necessary, I'm just using Field Commanders because the option already presented itself.

I didn't know attunement could be turned off, this explains a lot for engaging healers! I'm on PC so I can move my buttons for easier access

I also didn't know dissipation was that important, going to use it way more! I was thinking Selene could remove stuns/sleep that enemies could use but like you mentioned, it's AI and usually on CD so I wasn't sure of exact benefit/ utility ratio in comparison to the dissipation bonus or eos abilities.

    Thanks again!

glad I could help! there's a whole bunch of other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head, but yeah.

I'm not a sucker for substats so I use the Griffin set left side (the i185 crafted chest because im slowly working on an SS/Crit set up), The griffin healing choker, Yasha Tank earring, yasha healing wrist, and a yasha tank+healer ring. I don't have any pve healer gear so that's why it's kind budget. I use Marron Glace(?) as food. It's SS/acc/VIT
