    I really don't see the issue with it . It's a weapon, it kills things. Would the game really be much more exciting instead of getting +50 crit you get "5% chance for X skill to hit 10% harder" .. Do you want them to work on content or dumb stuff like this? I'd prefer content over reworking all the damage dealing algorithms, which they prob will never do anyways.

    -I was think the same thing, instead of focusing only on stats maybe adding some effects to basic attack or skill,can make i much more interesting, lets say it has a cast of x% of you special skill, or that weapon can add some type of debuff to enemies.
    -another idea will be adding slot to the weapon & adding materia able to give effects/debuff or skills to it. ro making mobs drop materia that can cast the monsters skills.
    -im not a game developer or anything so this ideas are just ideas, i had no idea whats going on on the background to make something like that happend.

    I don't mind doing the quest. In fact I'm doing the crystals right now for my SMN while I take bard up to level 50. It's not so bad yet and I'm doing daily beastmen quests while I'm at it. I expect it to take time, but adding a unique stat to it I agree would be fun. That though does link back to I think they should make more in depth stats and reworking some of the things anyways.

    Someone made a good post about using FFIX AP system, and applying it on this game. General gear gets general things. Raid gear getting obviously much well deserved ones and things like Relic getting something really job specific.

    If they don't do anything I'll still play. I do love this game a lot and I wouldn't say I'm sick of it.

    How about we get this done already, SE? Wouldn't have to be anything too serious. Remember how you forgot to give us new traits in Heavensward? Here's a fun way to stick them in.

    Also, really? You delayed Anima Weapons because Alexander ones aren't i215? Are you f*cking serious? You mean you delayed them because you remembered the issues people cried about in 2.0 a bit too late? I seem to remember Allagan weapons getting bumped up to i95 to separate them from relics back then. So let me get this strait, you delayed the quest because of that, knowing full well that it would take your average user quite some time to actually obtain the bleedin' things, and not one person went "Why are we delaying it a month when they probably wont even finish it in a month? Why don't we just release it now and bump Alexander weapons up while they're stuck on the third step?", not one person? Bravo...

    Yes it is a weapon, and all weapons to a certain degree will kill stuff. To others more unique/useful stats would make it more exciting. But that is only a small part of what may excite people in this game. It would imo go hand in hand with a more horizontal progression. And I can't see how that is dumbing stuff down. To me thats more like what we have now, no customization, our options are limited for gear, its either you get this or that, and only 1 is BIS.

    Can you honestly say to yourself that spending months grinding this weapon for a sub-par weapon is rewarding enough for your time?

    Enough of my rambling though

    I've been wanting special statistics on gear ever since 2.0. If the original FFXIV game could have it, you'd think someone would've had the sense to translate it over. Then again, these are the same people who threw out the elemental wheel and homogenized every job into an indistinguishable grey slurry. Can't possibly add stats to make things more unique now, as people might have a reason to start caring again.

    Because it can be done better than that. I'd imagine more along the lines of "Holy +3 Yalms", "Cover+" (granting an Additional Effect to Cover, such as a Wildfire-esque damage effect or buff sharing with another player), "+1 Grease Lightning gain", and so on. Don't even need to rework damage formulas to make some more interesting dynamics.

    For one, what content have they released lately that makes you think it'd be better to focus on?

    Two, it shouldn't really be a toss-up as to which they should put hard work into. Character progression and content are both pretty stale, and they're no longer innovating on either front. We can literally predict patch 4.1's content at this rate, and we can literally predict the pieces of gear we will and won't want, because of accuracy.
