Right you are.You do realise that an MMORPG is a virtual world, and that in order for the game to be successful the world has to be interesting. If there were quests involved which have chocobos and airship passes as rewards, this would give SE a chance to show off their storytelling skills and give us some atmosphere, which would further enhance the game world's experience.
Not everyone plays these kinds of games just for phat lootz.
Your same line can be applied here.
Not everyone plays these games for 2 hour travels.
P.S. MMOs is really about the endgame. Thats were most of the content is. that is were you will be most of the time.
You were trying to argue that MMORPGs are all about endgame. Trying to argue that I'm trying to bend this game in to something only I want is rather hypocritical when you are the one stating that it's only about endgame.
Storytelling is paramount to an RPG of any type, regardless of whether it's offline or online so an MMORPG should incorporate as much story and lore in as many opportunities as it gets. Story and lore expands the game world and keeps players interested. I'm not saying that combat isn't important too, because it is. But there seems to be way too much of a focus on battle and not enough on the actual world itself.
Chocobos and airships would have been great opportunities to show SE's storytelling skills.
again you are taking your own opinions and making them fact. i Could care a less about the story. all the MMOS i have played have been about the endgame and thats what has kept me playing. You were trying to argue that MMORPGs are all about endgame. People are different and do not want everything YOU want all the time. I want to travel faster and not wait on a boat or have a stupid quest that adds nothing to the chocos. Thats what YOU want. the only hypocritical person here is you.. There does not have to be effort and story in everything. Chocos are a faster means of travel and that is it.

This is Final Fantasy not Everquest, not WoW, not Rift. Final Fantasy is a game about stories. It did not become the largest RPG franchise in history by sacrificing detailed stories for fast and short lived battle content.again you are taking your own opinions and making them fact. i Could care a less about the story. all the MMOS i have played have been about the endgame and thats what has kept me playing.

P.S. (lots of quests and endgame as story is second to them as gamplay is first.)
