    You need more than only the first company quest. Enough quests to earn 3000 seals.

    Ok now that I have had time to calm down, these would be legitimate base requirements for new players..

    It's still very lame that all you have to do it buy the damn thing though. With Grand Companies becoming the central focus of this game 3k is not going to be difficult, a significant percentage of people already have it..

    I wish it had been a License you bought and then you had to quest for a Chocobo. This is very poor implementation.

    Still pissed about the airships..

    well if this might calm you a bit more. You have to buy your next rank with those same seals too before you can use that 3000 seals on the chocobo. We have yet to find out how much that will cost us to achieve the next rank and full induction into the GC
