FFXI relics took no LESS then 6 months to get, and that's if you had a steady stream of currency to get them.

While ilvls are changed here i am quite sure like the previous relics they will just update the quet lines to keep the ilvl with the meta, i just hope the entire relic isn't a repeat like the 1st one, meaning we'll need to deal with RNG materia next cycle.

3.25 Relic will be grinding all of the dungeons for a 10% drop rate item followed by grinding for 10000 light and finished off with more materia, please look forward to it.

Only one way to fix the problem, don't do it.

And after the next expansion and continuation of the relic quest, it will be worth an entire 18 atma for your troubles.

Then you have a selective memory. They were upgraded to level 99+ alongside the Empyrean weapons keeping them more than relevant, and the grind was made a lot easier by that time.

The Empyrean 'grind' also relied heavily on fighting mob X during weather Y in area Z, which could mean waiting for hours, even days, for the right combination to show up. This wasn't just one or two Empyrean weapons either, this is on a large number of them. So the grind could be just as annoying, if not more so, than the relic grind.

The relic grind was made a LOT easier when Dynamis became an open zone, and the upgrades used a similar system. It was possible to gain a relic in months, not years, once that update arrived.

But all of this is utterly irrelevant. We're talking about FFXIV. The relics suck. End of story. They're not special, and they NEED to be to justify the effort you put into them. What's the use in a level 210 weapon? I could upgrade my Antiquated sword and get that with a fraction of the effort!

I think the relic was for people who can't upgrade their Antiquated swords...

You've got A4S on farm? Impressive. You make up an exceptionally small portion of this games population. Most of whom get ground into dust by A3S.

This games relec sytem is the least of this games problems. ARR currently has was called a en-plodeing economy structure. When ever new set of items are release it sells for a good value, good for crafters-good for buyers right? Heres the problem, this game has abnormally high deflation in this game at a ex-treamly rapid rate. You could spend hours crafting and gathering in this game just to find out that all your hard work was just deflate by 90% withing 3-4 hours. This is a problem with all items in ARR. The reason this happens is people have the ability to see all items currently on the board and what they sell for currently.

This causes massive undercuts and massive deflation. People say stop using Final Fantasy XI Online as a example, but you know what it had a great marketing system. Same with WOW, it had a great market system that kept there economy from implodeing in on itself like we see here in ARR. Some deflation over time is normal on the market, but not at the rate in wich this economy is em-ploding. One change to the market board would solve that problem.

Removeing the ability to see the current price listing on all items. Allowing only for you to see the amount of items that are selling and what they sold for last. .This would prevent deflation and revitiliize this games economy. When this game first launched people said "Its a new game the economy will improve" The economy hasn't improved yet. If you all recall in 2.0 the relec quest similar to this one was implemented in 2.0 most of you should remember this. Now they are going for this same method in this patch. Do you want to know the real reason for why this relec quest is set up like this? There trying to get the games economic structure to stabilize
