So there is no winning, I can never do the end-game fights. All because SE like to promote one thing, but go ass backwards on it with lock outs. If they remove lock outs they make it so you can't get loot if you have more than 4 people clear.
Even with the lockout, people still help their "Friends". You blame lockouts, but nothing is stopping people from re-entering to help a friend, even if its just for a page. There are plenty of players whom are more than willing to help a friend (or a friend's friend) get a page or even 1-chest it. You (forumers) are just too stubborn to get one-chest or just a page and rather come on here to blame lockouts, then later talk about how raiders only care about gear and how savage should only be about the "challenge". So much for gaining experience on the fight *shrug*. If not stubborn, you are too lazy to find new "friends" or befriend these players in a full static. I know, you shouldn't have to.

But alas, I am part of the minority of these forums. What i say will be buried among-st utter non-sense that'll be liked sky-high for higher visibility.

SE is starting to feel like that student that keeps handing in passable C- work when you know they're capable of so much more.

Furthermore... yeah, maybe there is a reason why old content was dead? You know, because of people having been bored to death with it all for months. Doing the "daily routine" only, putting in the minimal effort to get the minimal allowed progress in the few things they can, because they are bored to death even with that. Sure, by forcing everyone to do those same things they have been sick and tired of for months, you can re-populate older content. But then cue the hatred, the flames, the quitting, the no recommending the game to outsiders - do the math if it's worth it. From a dev's point, or from ours. (Point in fact, it could be felt for a while that the game isn't getting the money it needs, let the subs start dropping and it'll go down the drain in its entirety. If it hasn't yet.)
Consider this then: had they added actual new content with Anima Weapon, the massive delay would have been justified at least. Like it or not, this thing has been delayed "because it wasn't ready". And then it drops, and it's a great big air balloon, like what wasn't ready in this? For the past 3-6-idekhowmany months, we could have been doing this. For the past several months, we could have had actual use of poetics and law tomes that have been collecting dust, capped for absolute ages on everyone's character, because there was nothing to spend it on. For the past several months, we could have had FATEs and beast tribe dailies and old dungeons not dried-out. And by now we (everyone, not only the bleeding-edge raiders) could have at least one weapon that's on par with the rest of our gear's level cap (that has also been there and quite easily obtainable for a month or two now, doing completely casual-difficulty tasks). And maybe, just maybe, we wouldn't be so disgruntled at the fact that by the time most of us even come close to finishing this great big air balloon, another token will be added to VA that enables everyone to have an i210 weapon doing content (once, probably) that's been a faceroll since about 2 days after its release, either.
And on a sidenote, don't even get me started on yet another batch of new tokens that we need to collect - that needs to permanently take up valuable inventory slots again, because they still can't (/ don't want to?) make all these tokens into actual special currencies, even though we have that oh-so-awesome-advanced Currency window now with so many tabs...
^ thank you, glad to see more people noticing how blatant the recycling has become.
Honestly, everything I get from what you've posted can be boiled down to this: "I'm on my way out of the door, I'm burnt out on everything, my inventory is overflowing, and none of my friends play anymore. I just needed an excuse to justify my exit." Vote your feelings with your wallet then is the only advice I have for you. Unsub and let the rest of us who can see the bigger picture (and it enjoy it) keep playing "this dying game."

This is just lazy design, and will only last for a short while. Old stuff will be populated for a month, then it's going to return to being a ghosttown. The devs should instead try to give the players a lasting reason to do these pieces of content. It's not like if they had the entire 2.0+ time to figure out that the players didn't seem to like doing fates and obsolete content for little to no reward.
Yes the anima relic was a carrot on a stick. A very useful one. It got more people out in the world and dungeons, and I doubt it'll only last for a month. By the time it starts tapering off noticably, the next part of the relic chain will be out to fill it back up again. That's how it worked in 2.0 and that's how it's working again. Seriously, look at the original relic chain: Hardly anyone was doing the hard mode primals, and bam: Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan become part of it. Next you needed to do FATEs cause they weren't being done, then the 'dreaded' books - FATES, DUNGEONS, LEVES, and mobs! After that: MAPS! and hunts (or FATES) and materia! Then, straight up do anything! Dungeons, FATES, whatever for light! Then more dungeons for the dreaded dungeon ATMA and omg crafted items to help the crafters be a bit more useful and so on..
See, the whole concept of the relic even then was never to be the best weapon, (it was always a step down from the hardcore raiders until the very end) it was to give people a reason to be out in the world doing stuff and that is what we are getting again. If you thought that it was going to be any different you seriously need to pull your head out of the sand.

My 2 cents on the relic.

    1. ATMA 3.0, it was hated the first tow times, why would they even think of doing it a 3rd? I seriously wonder how someone stands up in a meeting and says "I've got a great idea..."

    2. The relic quest has become nothing more than a means to get people to run older content. Instead of coming up with something new or fun.

    3. Running the same thing hundreds of time is NOT fun. I wish the devs would understand this. Lost City of Amdapor was my favorite dungeon. Then I had 42 runs during my zodiac drop. Now I don't want to run it anymore.

    4. Too much work for something that will be obsolete so quickly. If they follow the same pattern, we'll have ilvl 220 gear in 3.2. The grind would be worth it if the weapon would be useful for longer.

    5. Roulette tome bonus are only earned on a level 60 job. Now I have to decide if I want to use my leveling roulette to level or waste on a 60 job just to get tomes. It'd be nice to get the tome bonus on a non-60 job if the relic quest is open in your quest log.

    6. I don't mind having something that will take a while to earn, but the mindless grind of running the same thing over and over just is not fun.

My complaint is that they involved Crafters again. IMO crafters should have no part in any relic quest. I find gathering and crafting in this game to be excruciatingly boring and very tedious.

that another trouble they need to work on... but sadly for them endgame is only raid, they still haven't work on a endgame for crafter.... meaning a purpose and goal to them to try to get better at crafting outside be able to craft big recipe.

Crafters get new stuff every major patch as well as glamours. Whether it remains viable or not in comparison to other gear is something to be taken up with the Devs.

I'm guessing the problem he has with it is that it creates a gate for those whom either do not craft or are not in a FC where they would have access to some veteran crafters or do not have that much disposable income to pay for the needed items that will cost a great deal. I think that the crafting portion should have been another way to earn the 80 items one needs.

Well, they could be allowed to craft gear close or equal to the tomestone gear? Instead of just always having to make some little thing needed for something that for the larger part isn't crafting?
