It's a little slower, but hits harder and as the arc goes on you learn to throw your party member, other enemies, and eventually yourself at the opponent. Naturally you can't change stances in battle. And both stances get stronger the less HP you have.

There was a thread a while agoin which everyone was discussing the lack of water magic. Turns out all Cure spells are water. You can tell the element of a spell by the Aura around the caster while they are casting.
