So...I have an on-topic question...(please don't hurt me)

I'm hitting then end of 3.0 in about a week or two, and I'm a recent sub. No Zeta. I wanna get to the Awoken i200 weapon (I will wait for anima to be nerfed with my playstyle).

Can I get a serious pro/con of Zeta vs Step One Anima? Looking at time required/drop rates/level of engagement/rewards etc. I can't decide because I have no understanding how nerfed the 2.0 questline is today.

ETA: Glamour is a serious pro for me, btw. I mean, I don't wanna sink 15+ extra hours just for it, but if it's going to be less than that, hell yeah. Have you seen the Last Resort Zeta next to the Eso weapon? Yeah. The Eso weapon is FUGLY and the LRZ is haaaaawwt. That is all

I'd say go for the Anima questline. I got all my crystals in 12 hours (6 hours stuck in Azys Lla, 4 hours stuck in Hinterlands, 2 hours for the other 4 maps).

I'll get that Zeta glamour when I'm bored out of my mind instead. It will always be there. And no reason not to have a bitchin' (if not fugly) weapon while I do it. It's got blue swirlies going for it I guess..

I do remember him telling people not to bother trying to grind through the zeta just for the bonus, but I don't think he said the first step wasn't bad. Just that the time investment of creating the zeta didn't coincide with the first step of this new relic.

Its not bad. Especially considering people can finish the first step in under 5 hours.

The 2.0 questline has been severely nerfed, but going straight to anima will, barring outliers, be much faster. Doing the 2.0 questline probably will be at or more than 15 hours though. That said the Zodiac weapons are some of the prettiest in the game. I only had one zodiac zeta and all the rest of my 2.0 relics are at the zenith phase. If I were to start another relic at this point I'd bring one all the way up though the 2.0 quests simply because I enjoy glamour and have found glamour at lot more rewarding (and lasting) that trying to keep my gear on the bleeding edge. I'm not even going to try the anima phase until a nerf/price drop. Both relic questlines are in my opinion fairly boring. I'd really say it would matter on what your priories are.

We’ve already decided on all the content for the Anima weapon quests, so we don’t have any plans to ease up on any aspects; however, if you have yet to start any Zodiac weapons, it will be more time efficient to just start from the first quest for the Anima weapon.

BUT HE LIED! I would much rather grind for a zeta than do those FATEs like that again, that was just horrible at least most of the things you need in the 2.0 relic are instant drop now. I will never do another 3.1.5 relic without a zeta EVER again just no way

If I remember it right, he only said that the time to do first step is shorter than doing 2.x relic from base to Zeta.

It help if you do them with a job between lv 51 and 59. It is a good opportunity to level up other jobs while doing it for the relic. Just see it as an exp FATE farming.
