I went thru previous producer letters and laughed at all the things he said were going to be included and whatnot that never happened and were never mentioned again. A lot of those things were things that people talk about here a lot too. Yet we never get an answer.

It was like in v1, the standard response to anything was "just wait for version 2!"

I take anything stated in a live letter, an interview or anything released by SE as lip service at this point. It has taken me from being engaged and trying to provide actual good feedback and put my time into this game to not believing til I see and it will have to wait til I get around to xiv again.

Such a shame, they had me so fooled during v1 and the time in between the reboot.

Including the short ones, I'd say there are about 5 steps. There may be a lot of people who won't really want to do the first step... At the very least, I'd choose to skip it if I could. *laughs*

Ahhh....so following the logic this game has been going, the OPPOSITE should have happened! Welp, no wonder people are angry; he didn't do the opposite of what he said.

personal, fate grinding itself isnt so bad its the RNG that is horrible. i think a better system would of been to complete every fate in a zone. it would take a while sure, but you would know exactly how much progress you made and how much more you have to go.

Another idea is to have the drop rate increase per fate, to the point where you eventually just get one, it resets when you get one, then you will know that even if crappy RNG screws you over, you will still get it within a set few fates.

I have friends who are either getting their super fast or none at all in the same time-frame, total dependence on RNG is hardly a fun or fair thing. I can handle a grind but RNG tied to long fate farming is a real downer, considering the atma stage of the previous relic was almost universally despised, I am surprised they brought it back.

This exactly. This part is nothing compared to the last step. Compared to what you have to do on the last step, this is as fun and easy as it gets.

I was fating quite a while yesterday after picking up the quest with My scholar. But I turned in my Zeta. I have not got any drops for crystals, I was thinking I would also fate and level up my other favorite class. I do not think you can do this unless you start the quest over and are on the quest asking for crystals. So does anyone know if they made it easier to also collect for your other jobs? I'm thinking not.

I have all my crystals and got them in a 5 hour grinding session. In the fate parties I was in a lot of people got their drops as well. Some close friends of mine got all 3 crystal for an area within 10 mins of running fates in those areas. I personally think we should have moved passed the RNG aspect of the crystal grind but it hasn't been too crazy but there are already horror stories out there from people grinding for hours for one crystal. In regards to the weapon I think all players should consider the 3 step of the process before even debating doing Atma farming honestly. Atma farming is like the second easiest part of this.

Yeah, he actually said that if it was him, he wouldn't want to do the first step (when asked about skipping a step if you have a zeta).
