I think you mean hardcore grinders and botters.Looks like this relic is gonna be anotherhopefully sometime before I die of old agelong term goal for glamor only again for anything other than hardcore grinders or people who have ALOT of playtime available. New ilvl released before I ever complete it probably.
If the weapon doesn't look better than Zeta, I'll probably end up ditching this all together. For now, just take it at my own pace when bored and nothing to do. SE sure likes to "keep its subscribers" if you know what I mean.

Biggest issue I got with the new relic is that there's literaly 0% new things involved. It's just the same old stuff I've already been doing for ages, without a single new thing to do. I'd have less problems with it if it actually involded at least SOMETHING new, like a daily quest, or small dungeonfights or something. Instead it's just... keep doing what you've been doing for half a year, this time you'll get something for it?
If they dropped the craft item requirements then I can deal with the rest. But after spending 1.5 million Gil on the Zodiac Phase alone I want nothing DoW/DoL Quest related to every require Crafting never again. Makeing DoH items nessisarry for certain DoL quests and that\\'s fine. But DoH is as parasitic to DoW/DoM as it is Symbiotic to DoL.


since gil was soo little usefull (mostly because SE had tons of currency) people don't always have...Farm useless gil, i dunno on Excalibur but one relic is about 8M for the whole 16 item... that kinda insane for a i210 weapon that will be fast obsoletePre 3.15

Specialist crafting is bad itself, put it to anywhere it is still bad. ^^;
It defeats the "play every job in one character" concept we were told, it just encourages ppl to make alts.
It is predictable that if players like specialist, then later battle jobs will have the same thing,
i.e. select a Role or 3 Jobs as your specialist role/jobs for special abilities etc.
Since 2.0 a lot of ppl questioned what's the point of crafting and we told them it was to be self-sufficient,
so it is very depressing when the best point of crafting has been defeated by SE.


The thing is battle classes don't need to depend on Crafters for armor. We have tomes, Void Ark or Raid / Tokens for that. Same for accessories unless you are one of those people that HAVE to have pentamelded accessories before you do end game raiding. So why then do we have to need crafters for our relic weapon when we don't need crafters for any other end game weapon or armor?



I would take Garuda light farming at it's unnerfed light amount over this grind ANY day. That was easy compared to this. Even the shortest route to this which is about 640 Alexander runs (factoring law gained from it), will take a considerable amount of time more so when you consider the actual player base general skill on Non-JP servers. Quite a grind indeed but one in very poor taste. It's also quite literally every step from the Zodiac quests CEPT Animus books. Zero originality.Did people already forget about the previous relic grind pre-nerf??? Or is this all the HW players getting cold water thrown on them? There's ALWAYS been a grind associated with the relic chain. 3% atma drop rates. 15% dungeon atma. Millions of gil for materia and crafted materials. Brayflox myth farming, anyone? Garuda HM bonus for 4(!) lights.
Another thing that really bothers me is, you are going for a weapon, that literally has two stats again. While some of the combos might be different than current weapons, look at some of the ranged options a sec. MCN for example is abyssmal, why? Cause the Thordan weapon has the same weapon damage as the 210 relic but far superior stat combo. Invalidated weapon out the gate. For some other classes, there are better options elsewhere granted both still need to clear A4S at least.
What is the aim of trying to give a weapon through pointless grind that gives you two secondaries again. I would argue they could have added a third to make it WORTH doing this. Make this grind WORTH going through. Nope nothing, some bad stat combos iirc MCN BLM SMN PLD, and that's about it.
But the none raiders must be jumping for joy to some extent, you don't have to be able to clear A4S now at least. Just gotta sit and grind recycled content for months instead.
Seriously, Players need to start asking themselves, what has Heavensward changed considerably about the formula they had in ARR. Few and far apart examples.
