Yoshi DID confirm swimming/underwater content.
It is simply in the long term plans, rather than short term plans.

Also, since it seems likely that the looming Garlean invasion will impact and evolve the existing world,
Mounts based on technology do make sense.
But of course, within what makes sense for the game.
But some sort of well designed buggy would be cool.
PERHAPS, regional limitations on mounts?
Like use of car mounts ONLY in Garlean areas? etc etc.
Same way a boat only works on water.

Personally i think anything outside of vehicles and mounts that already have been as such in a FF game are novelty trash. Itd be cool to have diff colored chocobos, maybe even with slightly diff attributes and abilities, and even hoverbikes and stuff like in XIII would be pretty cool. Riding a sheep and other random crap is just plain retarded. (I've seen stuff like that suggested)

I do think the "riding summons" would be kinda cool though, especially if they transformed like XIII, but with the nature of summons in XIV i don't believe that's possible, they're more biological in nature (as much as a deity can be) not mechanical.

It is possible to put the trash mounts in but I dont see it as staying with the overall feel of the world and, more importantly, with the trends and atmospheres of Final Fantasy.
