Probably because, if it's actually a barcher, buffing doesn't look all that impressive on a magazine cover.

Well, they managed with the WHM. Just seems to me that if the job is Bard, and there's a harp in the picture, they'd probably show him playing it since that's sure to be the focus of the job.
