Where's that slide/photo of that panel he once did about 1.0-2.0 lessons that says the bit about how fun is important and if it's not fun you're doing it wrong....? I seem to recall something like that but my brain might already be too mush from the relic grind and am just mixing things up as a result....

I think that's the same slide that says if the community is not complaining it means they don't care, so they prefer the complaining because it shows the players still care, and when they stop you're screwed.Where's that slide/photo of that panel he once did about 1.0-2.0 lessons that says the bit about how fun is important and if it's not fun you're doing it wrong....? I'm not saying that to agree with OP though, XI relics are so far beyond anything XIV has made it's laughable this thread exists.

Well pretend a lot people playing today didn't do 1.0 relic questing and explain what you mean. But if you think adding a time limit would be better though get ready for the other side of the who hate gated content. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I've seen people bitch hatefully about the 1.0 relic quest. I've also seen people posting on this forum saying that making FF14 more like FF11 will solve all its woes.
Personally the Anima quests are mostly what I was expecting. Only the last quest was a shock. I think they have learned a few things. the 'Atma' stage is skippable for people with Zetas and for those who have to do it, since it doesn't require a specific weapon equipped, a specific class or a specific level, it means people can do things like level alts while gathering the Crystals. It might also just be my experience but the grind isn't nearly as long as atma one was. I also like that the final stage allows you so much diversity in choice over how to earn the things you need.
Is it grindy and time consuming? Sure. However that's what they said it was going to be. Its an investment of time vs challenge. Its a way for those who don't want to or cant do Alex Savage to get gear of a similar level.

Basically the Dev's at this point are "It's clear we don't want to put the work into making this a fun game for our players anymore. So here, shut up and grind."
Thanks, SE, I guess.

People need to stop comparing this to FFXI. It's not even remotely the same or as hard a grind. Not. Even. Close. And the fact is it's not a fair comparison.
