But no, seriously. I am waiting so anxiously for Dancer, I don't care what they make it in to here, I just want the class so badly and really hope we can expect it in the next expansion. I would love Red Mage or Samurai, ofc, but Dancer is really special to me and I doubt I'll ever be as excited for a class as I would be for it. ;;

I've personally begun to wonder if the Thavnarian Archipelago is actually based on Indonesia and Rad-az-han is Based off India.

Would still give the type outfits like the vanity gear (Also I think belly dancing is an Indian thing not a middle eastern).

At the same time that would allow Dancer and Beast Master. And I'm going out on a limb and making a wild suggestion/baseless guess. Diver, Archaeologist, and Tracker for Fisherman, Miner, and Botanist advanced DoL classes. <Charges Flame Shield>

Dancer would make the most sense, but i also think that they could get other unusual classes to come from the near east. Following the popularity of ffxi's incarnation of blue mage, a class like that could come from there. I could also imagine the scrapped 'ravager' class from 1.0 could come from there. They wielded a whip, and item data for that class was found in the old 1.0 data mines.

I've been recently impressed/spoiled by Tera's Brawler class. A heavy melee/mitigation tank. Such a thing might or might not be doable in XIV, but I'd love to see it regardless.

And while not relevant to Thavnair, I've said for the longest time that I'd love to see a staff/Eastern discipline-style spear job based off of the "lancer legions of Ala Mhigo" referenced in the Lancer class description.

Other possible weapon/jobs:
Hammer tank
dual Sword DPS (or hell, a Sword DPS period)
Shield Cannon (a la Cape Westwind boss) tank
Something that reflects/parallels the Mhach/Void casters/healers

Thavnarian is being called near eastern in the story, Doma being a Japanese themed country would also be east no? Based on my limited knowledge of Japan and their flag, they are considered as the land of the rising sun and therefore, the *most* east right? (The sun rises in the east and sets in the west as I try to remember if I get lost and am trying to figure out which direction I'm going. :P )

So a Thavnarian country might be based on a country that is nearby to Japan maybe? I mean, there is no reason for it to be, other than perhaps it also being referenced as a eastern country. English speaking countries are usually referred as "the west" I assume.

Just thinking, I have nothing to go on other than the "east" theme. Maybe someone that knows more about eastern culture could know more. I hope I'm not saying anything out of place here. I don't know the culture at all.

This is a fantasy game (obviously) so really no reason it had to be geographically close to Doma.

I'm just wondering because if there was a country that perhaps Thavarian culture was based on, it might help to figure out a appropriate job.

I wouldn't say Thavnair is based on a country nearby Japan, but yes the eastern regions are based on the eastern half of the real world, while Eorzea is based on the west. It might only be a coincidence though. The east is very diverse in culture, and the west isn't only english-speaking countries since we have Europe and South America.

I'm having the feeling Thavnair will be inspired from mostly western asia, southeast asia to middle-eastern culture. We already have Thanalan but I'm not really getting that kind of vibe from it.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, Thanalan reminds me of Africa. North Africa that is.
