    600GP (Collectible Gathering Question)

    So I've recently figured out how to gather collectibles (yay!), which can be turned in for a very nice chunk of EXP, which is very nice for leveling (as I'm still just 56 on my highest gatherer). But I've noticed that almost every single guide out there suggests having a minimum of 600 GP before trying it (in part because you'll need to burn 300GP just to reach it).

    I just spent ~300K to upgrade my (severely) outdated accessories, and it got me up from high 400s up to 580 GP. But I'm still short more than a few GP to get to that cap and it seems like gathering materia in general will break what little is left of my poor little piggy bank.

    So what then is the best way to get to 600GP? Do I need to break what's left of poor little Piggy for the materia? I've done the math, and upgrading what few non-HQ accessories I have to HQ would only get me about 5 extra GP.

    FOOOD. Antelope Stew from the Tap Keeper in Gold Saucer will give you +21 GP. Its dirt cheap + EXP boost. Don't worry about gearing too much just try to keep your gathering high enough to be 95%+ and your perception high enough to be near or at 115 on an unbuffed Methodical Appraisal. :3

    You don't need 300GP to reach it. Typically, you use one swing instead as long as your gathering is high enough. See this guide (there may be a typo in some of the gathering requirements) or this Reddit thread for rotations and Gathering/Perception requirements.

    Food! That's what I did, at least. I made a bunch of 1 star ARR foods to get me past the threshold.

    This is wrong. All 'out of reach' items are always in the same place. They don't move around like the normal 'hidden' things. You just need to pick the one you're going for and hit at it to get it to appear. You don't want to waste GP on getting all those visible. The 600 is mostly due to DE, SM, and UC. The rotation I used when starting was DE + MAx2 and a SM + MA to finish. It takes 600GP (DE and SM being 200GP a piece.) You use one hit when you uncover the one you want, two more with the DE + MA's, and the SM at the end saves a hit so that you'll get 3 items on a normal attempt.

    Stuffed Chysahl, if you can get your hands on some or have a friend make some for you, will put you over the 600GP mark as well as provide a boost to Perception which will help your collectability rating. provides +2% (max 11) Perception and +6% (max 30) GP, as well as the +3% EXP boost, for 30 minutes.

    O.O

    Well I feel sheepish now. XD I had no idea you could get around the "Out Of Reach" message! Game doesn't do a very good job at explaining it.

    Y'all have been greatly helpful! Thanks!

    Throw some GP3/4s into your slots.

    The real challenge is hitting 700. I think the only way to do that is 2star accessories and 150 leftside with maximum GP slotted into everything.

    700 lets you do several things though; Like 3x / 2x gathers combined with hq / gather chance, or 2x gather with +1 gather chance.

    650 is a safety break point bu t700 lets you get real greedy

    I really need to get the level 60 accessories and get to 650 GP. Last night I was all like: YAY! I'LL REAP 4 ADA ORE COLLECTABLES! SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET! And then 15 seconds like: HOW DO I MISS ON EVERY SINGLE FREAKIN' ONE OF THEM?! 97% AND I MISSED THEM ALL? IS THIS A JOKE?!

    This happens to me so often. ;_;
