In fact only seeker of the sun do lion pride mating habits while keeper of the moon don't, they are known to have more sons hence the lore of their naming where a male is given the mothers name with a suffix of birth order. And this goes up to the seventh son.
IT goes up to the tenth (see, my char's original name)
And there are supposed to be LESS males in Keeper society, which means that if one goes "yeah you know I don't really like girls", that'd probably be looked down upon...since, you know, those few males are used to breed.
Maybe for the highlander's family it was an issue of race, but I'm pretty sure for the keeper it was a gender issue.

Not sure where you got "more sons" since Miqo as a whole seem to not actually (supposedly, ignoring adventurer numbers) have many males available at all.

Seekers throw a "lot" of their already few males out the breeding pool because they aren't considered worthy. I don't think the keepers would make a big fuss about it. They make a bigger fuss about one guy hoarding girls for himself.

    Eastern Thanalan, actually. In Drybone.

Regarding the WP couple... here's a YT video with that conversation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYPF_bOimzM
The relevant quote would be at 45 seconds.
"This fellow is Hyuran and I am Miqo'te; are we lesser a couple for our differences? I should think not!"
    And at 50 seconds:
"We both had to leave our birthplace. Why, you ask? Simply because we were different."
Sure, one can interpret "different" as in homosexual, but with the previous line in mind, I'm more inclined to think it's a matter of "we were different races". =) YMMV.

Yeah, because SE have never changed anything due to the player base before. /eyeroll

No need to be insulting. I gave a perfectly valid reason of why I disliked the dance. This is a fantasy game, not everything has to relate to real life culture. Maybe you're the brat here.

By the way, being rude and having the "I like it so everyone else has to" attitude isn't the best way to enforce your argument.

Yes cupcake but they won't change it just because YOU want it changed. Some people actually like it, and since the dance is different for each gender there is a high chance it's not changing. Seriously, Why are you trying so hard. I'm not all that fond of it either, but i can learn to accept it. Nor do i come to forums crying about it. But then again, i'm not that fond of the male version either. all it does is spread the legs further, Like we don't know how well THAT will work out for female characters. >_>

No, your definitly the brat here trying to get SE to redo their work, because "WAH I DON'T LIKE THE DANCE, CHANGE IT SE!".

The amount of entitlement in the XIV player base (actually no, it's not that low... the people that post on the forums) is ridiculous. An item or rewards comes out and the first thread you will see is some crybaby begging for it to be redone/rebuilt/reanimated so it can be catered to their whim. How entitled you must feel that you think a reward should be cosmetically changed (this isn't even something that effects the general game) because YOU don't like it?

Wtf happened to MMOs after I quit WoW in 2008? I don't recall people being so entitled back then... or is this just a FFXIV 2.0 thing?

I just assumed it was crap on females because of the "women can't spread their legs" issue (look at all the awkward mount and sit positions on females carefully constructed to avoid any open legs ever at any point). I thought it was just another crappy cover up for modesties sake. At least this one has some basis. I'm slightly less miffed about it. But only slightly.

As some said they like it because it fits their chat personality, I hate it for the same reason. I prefer to think of my char as a much stronger char than that dance portrays even though the purpose of the dance is to show strength.

I can name a couple of mounts that have legs spaced wide showing panties.
    Midgardsormr
    Sanuwa
    Broom

Manderville Dance splays the legs out wide as well, so I don't think this is a big issue.

I'm not asking for the dance to be the same. I'm not asking for special treatment. I'm asking for the motions to be less robotic and more smooth. It doesn't seem that way on the Vanu females. It seems to be an issue animating the characters of a smaller frame.

I'm a female in real life and I think that they should keep making a "male" and "female" glamour, but not restrict them by gender. Sure, the Thav bustier was made for a woman, but that shouldn't stop a man from trying to squeeze into it. Nor should a woman be prevented from wearing a Riviera Doublet. That would expand the amount of appearance options and would make a lot of people happy.
