Sundrop Dance REALLY Needs Reanimated for Females

Based on real-world dance or not, it simply just looks like you might as well not bother on the effort to get it being female. It doesn't look attractive or spirited at all. You -could- keep the shorter, more limited movements, but they can be refined to be more purposeful, sharper and flow much smoother, instead of it looking like someone is forcing your character to dance at gunpoint.

That is just how these forums are, male users crying not enough glamours vs females now males get 1 thing that is more popular and you got the female users crying they want the same version as the males, and of course the "everyone must be able to have everything as everyone else" arguments, some people are just against exclusive and uniquess, everything must be the exact same!

Except they're not, I'm not too sure where you're getting this impression at all. Canonically Eorzea has little issue with same sex relationships. If anything different race relationships are considered more taboo.

Tell that to the couple that was murdered in Wanderers Palace :S

Every other dances have been done for females, i'm sure i'm not the only one who wasted 160k GPS for those ugly dances on males that i will never use.

Most of outfits are designed for females too >.> there is ONE dance which fits better on males and you are crying?

That's why gay characters are somehow hidden, not because SE hates gay people, but because Eorzea works this way, and while some social aspects are very advanced, others just are not, and that's why this game is so special; because it's not tied with real life.

Games would be so boring if they were tied to real life limitations. Why would I want to play a fantasy if it's affected by reality? It just doesn't make any sense.

Even excluding the excellent example of the WP couple, same-sex relationships don't feel tremendously hidden in this game. I didn't need to use much imagination to get that impression from my time in Camp Dragonhead and female Miqo'te certainly seem very comfortable with one another.

Also not sure what to think about the idea that Eorzea quietly forces gay pairings underground (it doesn't) but that's nothing to do with Square-Enix when they created it. Support for that kind of issue isn't necessarily a sign of how 'advanced' a culture is; there are plenty of comparatively 'primitive' cultures in our world which didn't/don't discriminate. If Eorzea has that kind of discrimination - which I don't believe it does, consciously - then it would have been a deliberate game design choice by the creators.

Why would I want to play a fantasy game if it's affected by reality to the point that it included discrimination just to be accurate to a version of history it's not really following in the first place?

In any case, we're at the point where it's clear there are three distinct lines of thought about the sundrop dance. I don't personally have a stake in this as my character is male and I happen to like the male dance even though I look like a massive dork doing it, but since some people with female characters like it the way it is (and may have invested the time earning it specifically for that version) then it wouldn't really be fair to change it.

So as was discussed in the previous thread, I personally support making both dance options available to everyone for some future quest reward via /cpose, especially if it means we get to enjoy another silly (or heart-warming, depending on how they do it) quest along the way.

I think the female version is very cute. They could make a quest where you can unlock the version of the dance for the opposite gender.

Idiotic gender politics aside, the fact is the female dance looks dumb.

I'd at least prefer a minor change where we at least bend our legs so it doesn't look so unnatural.
