No one said it looks like the haka, but its pretty obvious where Square Enix got their inspiration from for the Sundrop Dance when you compare the two. And there were female Vanu before 3.1 as well. The reason for the complaints is ppl ASKED for the vanu vanu dance as they saw it. Which was the male version, if i recall no female vanu was present till this was patched in. They really shoulda just made the male version for both, AND PLEASE the sun drop dance looks next to nothing like tha haka.

Actually...
These are nameless untargetable NPCs which were already in game before the beast tribe update. SE gave us the dance as it was given to the birdmen. Some people actually like it the way it is for females and an opinion about cosmetics is not more important than another just because it has big loud EQUALITY-tag on it.

Which would make sense, if we were talking about video games in general. We're talking about Final Fantasy XIV, though.
Let's flip that around then, shall we?
What is wrong with wanting unique dance animations? Why must we homogenize everything?
You tell me, sister.
I understand that and it really shouldn't be that way.
The problem is that it is that way currently, which is why we essentially ended up with more female glamours and gear that looks better on them.

I'm suddenly imagining a Hildy quest in Sea of Clouds where he is doing the female dance while Nashu performs the male version, before they are both eaten by Bismarck, because dancing does not have an effect on flying whales. MORE HILDY OR RIOT!
If Sundrop needs to be reanimated, because some players with female avatars do not like the female version of the dance, isnt it fair that SE devotes time and money to model female only glamour for male avatars? I am all for equality, I wish female got the male Sundrop dance, I wish males got bunny outfit and dresses, I wish Lalafell could mount normal size chocobos. Sadly this wont happen, because SE does not want to spend funds on animation or armour that only some players want to have.
In the words of many players with female avatars that come here:'If you want to have stuff that gender Y or X has, buy a fantasia and roll as gender Y or X'

I like the way it looks on my character. It's adorable on a smaller character cuz it looks like they are trying to be tough. We don't kill them with toughness, we kill them with cuteness!

As people love to say for all the male players/people playing male characters who want dresses and bunny ears and etc. for males as well as females:
Don't like it, use a fantasia.
doesn't feel so good now does it?
Why is everyone so mad about this? The Thavnair dance looks way better on females while the gold dance is ok on both sides therefore it evens it out.
It's not like anyone here will just stand around dancing for hours anyway.
also thanks Gunspec for bringing that scene back to my mind lol![]()
