If I'm currently working towards my Zeta right now, can it be used to skip the first step of the Anima later on? I'm working on NIN Animus right now and everything else is an Atma.

Yes. Any fully completed 2.x cycle relic can be traded in to skip the first stage of any 3.x cycle relic, regardless of class. For example, you can trade in a NIN weapon to skip a PLD weapon's first stage, or a SCH weapon to skip a AST one. YoshiP has also said though that starting on a new 2.x relic weapon isn't worth it just to skip the first stage of a 3.x one, but since you've already them then that point is moot.....

You have to have the Zeta completed not just working on it to skip a step.

Yoshida did also say that even he wouldn't want to do the first step of the Anima, two conflicting statements. The relic is quite easy now, so it's worth doing even for just the glamour imho.

Honestly, Yoshida says a lot of things. (Alex normal = coil with echo?) I'm pretty sure it was just to delay the inevitable backlash of zeta owners when they find out how inconsequential the skipped step is. My money is on the first step being easy.

I'm quite sure the context of his statement is doing a 2.0 relic so late right now is simply not worth doing to skip a step and you'd waste more time this way than if you were to just do the 3.0 relic from scratch.

I would be a bit disappointed if they nerf as3 besides through relic/possible godip and Thordan which they already said they will not be doing a primal ex like it's difficulty ever again.

Fair enough, though if you're interested in the glamour but on edge, I'd say after nerf and with the 10 hour bonus it would be worth it. I still don't see why he would approve of something even he wouldn't want to do though.

We already know the first step is 10+ hours in length, so it's not too minor.
