Well, there's a difference between not Needing on it and not Rolling on it. If he doesn't have DRK unlocked, all he could use the sword for would be either GC seals or desynth (which I'm doubting he had to that level, if he'd been taking a break)... so them asking if he could be so nice as to Pass on it, shouldn't really call for a torrent of verbal abuse (the way it sounded like it did from the post) ^^

Eh, I don't think we're completely innocent. After he kinda showed himself to be a ****, I think we verbally took him down. I also think that it was hilarious to boot him, so I dont' think myself perfect on the matter.

This happened just a moment ago.

I'm a BRD with i200 weapon, went into EX roulette. Got a WAR with i170 weapon. Shouldn't be a problem, right? This guy couldn't hold hate at all, me and healer ripping hate off all the time. Got to first boss, Quelling for pull as usual, 2 minutes later, I have hate, thankfully Quelling isn't on CD anymore, so I pop it again. One minute later, I have hate again. Boss down, I bail the party, I'm not gonna waste my time with runs like this. Neither am I gonna gimp myself to make up for someone's extremely poor skills.

And this WAR was even using Steel Cyclone and Overpower + full-time Defiance with 1 STR accessory, so this is clearly a tank with dungeon experience, not one who has no idea what to do.

or maybe, and quite possibly the gear difference goes way past the weapon, and its a simple matter of them trying to gear up while you out gear them to the point you will pull threat at some point. it happens. doesnt mean they lack skill

I got a short one. xD Was doing lv60 roulette with SMN, got Neverreap. Whole run was fine and dandy with no wipe. Last boss, tank goes afk for a sec, I end up walking off the the edge and die. I returned and we finished the boss easily. Got 2 comms, though. xD They must have thought me walking off the edge was funny.

The quoted log makes you guys look like bigger asses than your initial post did. The BLM only wanted the weapon for glamour, the war might actually have a use for it when leveling his drk. The DRG in the group was also the first one to start calling someone names, not the WAR

Yeap. That's why I don't pretend to be innocent on the matter. Doesn't matter to me in the end though - in my book, if he wasn't such an ***hat about it, we just kicked him. xD I think it's kinda one of those things you can be split on - his reactions to the BLM asking for it were a bit over the line (sorry, but 'I'm more important than you' is basically what he was saying.) - but at the same time one might say we stepped over a line first.

Yeah, both sides look like jerks, honestly. Personally I wouldn't mind passing if someone wants one thing that badly - on the other hand my own policy is if I REALLY need it, I run the job I want it for. I asked in WoD for NIN drops (no one else was a ninja) when I was running monk. Two different runs, NIN pieces dropped and other players got them. Was I salty? Sure! Was I entitled to them? Absolutely not, no matter how many runs I've done for that piece.

While I'm here, on topic: did leveling yesterday and got Sastasha normal for the second time. -_- a join in progress, weirdly, with both dps being replaced around 12 min in. Since almost everything went smoothly from there I could only conclude the dps had been bad.

Almost everything...because in the final pull right before the final boss, the scholar stopped healing the tank. Tan dies and suddenly I'm ninja tanking. And my health is dropping. And I'm not getting heals. And...and why is the scholar running away?!?!

The arcanist kept me alive through that pull and gave sch some good, kindly delivered advice about when to heal vs when to dps. I commed him for those reasons. Cleared boss just fine...still wondering why that SCH ran away though...

That's a 30 item level difference on weapon alone. That's an enormous difference even considering you're a bard (before someone gets up in arms about this, I'm referring to the raw weapon damage of bards as compared to other classes), and if you get a lower geared tank like that you'll have to either hold back or get punched in the face a lot. Funny that you say he's got poor skills when...

you also detail some of the things he was doing to try to hold hate. He was in Defiance full time. He was using his AoE enmity skills. He didn't have STR accessories, but then again he's also probably relatively fresh to level 60 if he's using an i170 weapon. So, which is it? Does he have dungeon experience and know what he's doing, or does he lack skill? I'll be frank, after reading what you wrote here it seems to me that you lack either the skill to watch your aggro with a less geared tank or the willingness to do so. That's okay though, because there's plenty of DPS in the queue so you ragequitting over your own failing like that probably only slowed down the run about a minute while they waited for the new DPS to catch up with the rest of the group.

Same day, I was running the Arey (I'm trying to get the tank boots and helm for a level 60 glamor ;c).

U have my Sympathy here. I leveled my Pala, WHM and Ast almost only in the aery bc of the boots and guess what I saw the panda minion drop twice whereas the boots never dopped '_'
My hunt for those boots has become a running gag in my fc and I made sure to tank the aery for everyone when I got the chance.
It was just ridiculous how I NEVER saw the boots drop once.
Then my bf was leveling his Pala, I was healing one run with him and guess what, he got them -__________-
Now he's leveling SCH, I sure as hell was spamming the Aery with him and the boots FINALLY dropped 2 runs before he got to 57. And guess what, in the next run when he became 57 they dropped AGAIN. UNREAL I SAY, UNREAL!

Not exactly a df story but it makes me cry and laugh at the same time

So many dps think they are way too awesome but don't even know how to throttle back their aggro generation when DF provides them with a lower geared tank. It's not, or at least not only that the tank was bad (he may have been but it doesn't seem it.), its that the Bard was bad.
