"The New Thing" people are doing on Diadem and screwing people over

if they are doing it for easy(and quick) esoterics then they are still screwing themselves over with the 2 hour cool down from the time you enter, so if you spend 30 mins on doing the objectives then you have to wait 90 before reentering (kind of quicker to do expert DR even as DPS)

I have had this happen to me once where the person concerned grab flying as fast as possible and refusing to help the rest of the group get flying completed the objectives and left

(correction:- seems like they reduced the cool down to 45min on dec 1st (big mistake) which pretty much explains everything with 15mins to wait)
