Yeah seriously, way to ruin the fun...

I don't think I encountered them, but generally speaking AST+SMN teams were destroying me left and right. I only played 10 matches because the queue was SO FAST I ended up getting locked out of DF twice because I thought I could step away from the keyboard for more than two seconds. Whoops.

Seal Rock queues were also amazing last night, between 5 and 15 minutes. I've NEVER gotten into matches that quick before unless someone dropped out. And they were all really fun, so THANK YOU!

I managed to get 57 matches in. I qued up as WAR, AST, WHM, NIN, BLM, etc just for fun.

Had a great time for the most part, however I started running into a premade party around 1:00am from Famfrit, which was ruining the experience a little bit. Honestly if you want to run premade, you should que for the non level sync version of Wolves Den.

Haha I ran into this same premade too which made me stop queuing after a while. Wolves Den is fun but solo queuing against premades consistently gets annoying after a while. Was fun though wrecking summoners in there as dragoon cause they no longer have human shields hiding them like in frontlines lol. Its practically impossible to kill astros in there with randoms though.

I usually go in as a PLD and macro my tactics so that the DPS can time their burst when I stunlock + fullswing. I usually advise any whm or blm in the party to bait the healer's purify with sleep so that my stun can't be cleansed. However, it's dependent on how competent / smart the DPS are since I'm not doing much dps to the healer if I'm spamming shield bash. Regardless, I have coordinated quite a few successful kills against ASTs with paladin.

I think maybe I played against you at one point. The closest I got to dying was against some insane Paladin/BLM/DRG burst/CC opener. AST is horribly broken in PVP though, I really had no right living through that.

But thanks for setting up this event, it was fun and successful IMO.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for this. I never tried Wolves' Den, as when I hit 50 my PVP friend told me that nobody did it and I should wait for the 60 ones.

It's not that no one does it... It's just that it's extremely difficult to get into unless you're rolling a pre-made or organizing matches (either fixed matches or event matches like these ones).

Class/Level/Rank restrictions as well as a overall less populated DF lobbies contribute to this, and some Worlds have it much worse than others. On my World, you'll be lucky to get into Wolves Den even if you set up a PF to organize match fixing. I spent a week trying to get into it (in both DF's that ticked away endlessly and PF's that no one joined), but had no luck. As much as I'd like to get into WD, there's a point where you're just wasting your subscription staring at a clock when you could be doing Seize or Raiding. On other Worlds (especially ones with more active PvP communities) you might have much more luck.

I was getting 5 minute queues last weekend cause of this event so it's probably your best chance to get into wolves den if you would like to get some matches in, whether it be for your first time or just enjoy the mode in and of itself. Only problem is it can suck to repeatedly get matched up against premades (since it seemed some ppl took advantage of the temporary increased In queues to make premades in order to work towards their alpha wolf titles I guess) when you are solo queuing but the matches are really fun otherwise when the teams are more or less balanced.

I really hope we can do this again on Friday, without speed hackers, and without premades. And maybe this time I won't do something dumb like locking myself out of the queue by mistake!
