All 8 classes done!!! WOOT (a little show off + useful info too)

Here they are! All 8 crafting classes in their new Heavensward outfits!

Despite doing as much "favor gathering" as I could, and gathered most of the 1 star mats as well myself, I am still broke now... spent approx 160 million gil on favor mats, 2 star mats, materia, landborne/leafborne/seaborne aethersand and Fieldcraft demimateria III. But hey, one gotta make oneself happy with one's own gil, right? Not much of a point hoarding all that money if it doesn't give happiness!

And in the end, it was way more than just paying gil. It was a crap load of end-game 2 star crafting. I learned a lot in the process.

Now, not only that I have achieved quite outstanding near-zenith stats (from the nearly-capped overmelds except chest, MH & OH), but I actually look pretty with all my classes I do remember myself whining about every class looking super boring with the Artisan's Apron back in ARR end-game. Hey now! No more whining! All 8 classes looking fabulous!

I did not like my leatherworker's chest-piece (it made me look fat ), so I simply glamored it with Iroha's samurai outfit from the seasonal event. I find it surprisingly fitting very well with the leatherworker hat, gloves and boots.

I also glamored my ARM and CUL gloves. ARM gloves were gigantic and reaches the upper arm, making me look like having "severely-injured arms in plaster". CUL gloves were not really gloves, but just some kind of palm cover... I believe my current gloves look a lot cuter <3

I also glamored my LTW and ALC with a skirt, which I find prettier than their authentic pants. The leatherworker pants actually comes with a very sassy belt, which I like. However, the belt can never be shown unless I wear a very skimpy top.

Originally, I was very reluctant to make so many gear... I was hoping to grab some i180, which saves me the trouble. But after knowing that the HQ i170 hat/gloves each gives 9 more craftsmanship, and pants/boots each gives 4 more CP than the i180, I got greedy, and went i170 instead.

Then there's the chest, which i180 is actually nice on stats, since it requires no melds, and it has the 4 CP. But damn, it cannot be DYED... sorry, glamor is important... so I crafted the chest too.

As for mainhand and offhand, I want 4 CP on them, so I crafted them as well... Thus, at the end, I have zero i180 -___-'

I'll post my stats later... currently FC control II buff is active, so my screenshots show a "deceiving amount" of control. :P

I found that 832 craftsmanship is actually a good amount to have. You DO NOT need to meld anything on chest, MH and OH, and you do not even need to max the +1 craft on boots and pants, and you can still reach this amount! The reason why 832 is good, is because after eating the easy-to-make Baked Onion Soup, one can reach 860 craft, and that amount allows one to take up to 3 trick of trades, and renewing the CZ during the MaMA+FS phase in Rath's 2 Star Rotation (With 860 craft, you only need 1070 progress in the MaMa phase, and you can still complete the item with 3x CS II). It adds a lot of room-for-failed FS's / flexibility for Tricks. You will have 2 fewer CP than eating Seafood Stew, and you will have 31 fewer control. But if you're already penta-melded with i170, you have plenty of control anyway.

As for specialist classes, 845 is my recommendation due to its convenience with making those ingots/cloths/pterodactyl (1 star 35 durab). It's easy to reach this amount of craft. If you have 832 craft without melding the chest yet, then all you need is 3x Competence III on the chest (temporary melds), and you will reach >845.

The making of my final i170 was also a pretty dramatic one...

I first failed too many Flawless Syn that I needed 10 extra durab for completion, and then failed 4 out of 8 Hasty Touches. I was sitting at only IQ5 when there was 50 durab left (and still needing 20 durab for completion). Clearly, the 2 upcoming touches would have only gotten me to IQ7 at most before the Byregot... far from enough.

I had much lucky CP along the way though. At that time I had 182 CP (including those upcoming Comfort Zone steps), so I decided to add an extra (3rd) Waste Not there, and failed another Hasty out of the 4 touches (so, equivalent to failing 6 Hasty Touches total, considering that 1 touch I lost due to FS failure!).

Sadly, by the time I realized I had only IQ8, it was already too late... I just finished my 3rd WN, and had only 30 durab and 101 CP left. I needed 2x CS II for completion... Thanks to those God damn failed FS's, I was sitting at 1310 progress. Each of my CS II can only give 120 progress, so I'm 6 progress shy from completion after one CS II), which means I had to Byregot right there... But I knew IQ8 was not enough. I still need 56 CP for GS+Byregot, so 101 CP is not enough to restore any durab, nor another round of WN. Yet, because I took with me Reclaim, I had no Innovation, nor Ingen2. So my Byregot is going to be naked on IQ8 (SH+GS+Byregot = 78 CP, with 23 CP completely wasted).

If I was able to foresee this problem earlier, maybe at 50 durab, I would have gone SH II, Hasty, Master's Mend, Hasty x3. That way, I would have gained 3 extra touches instead of just 2 extras from WN (I had no Manipulation, so the only way to recover durab was via MM). But who would have thought of that? WN is technically more CP efficient than MM (28 CP for each extra step instead of MM's 30.7 CP for each extra step)! And even if I had gone the MM way, I would have only 69 CP left, and my final Byregot would have no protection from Steady Hand, which would have been VERY risky.

I could Reclaim the item at this point. Yet, somehow I decided to gamble a little more. So at 30 durab, I did another round of SH II + Hasty (and prayed that this Hasty landed, which it did), and then GS + Byregot at IQ9, reaching 100% HQ rate. With 10 durab and 20 CP left, and while SH II was still active, I used Standard Synthesis. It worked, and I got my final i170!

Special thanks to Rhys'to Lyehga for providing me a final Seaborne Aethersand for free. And thanks to both Rhys and my in-game husband, Kumi, for being there to give me support when I was crafting this final item! I totally freaked them out when so many Hasties blew up! They were as nervous as I did! LOL!

I started my crafting in the streets of Uldah as a nobody with barely any gil, now I ended my career there in the same place of Uldah with friends' support! It's fate!

Congrats, that's a very impressive amount of work.

    I'm totally jealous, of course.

Super congrats and super cute! Love the colors and touches of glam! I personally love the leatherworker chest but I can't STAND the Alchemy chest. I glamed it back to the 2.x one without any Dye. I love how that makes me look like Rika the mad scientist from Haganai =)

I totally feel your pain. I was trying to make a 2-star item and then this happened. I wasn't so lucky though. Congratulations on your final i170!

Congrats Sensei! The gear looks awesome! On Lala...not so much...we look even shorter than we are...

I have had 2 scenarios where despite having mostly HQ material, that hasty touch RNG...

First situation I managed to HQ it (Using Seafood Stew), I got greedy, never NQ one 2 star...started using Onion Soup...hasty touch fails...one after another, NQ my first NQ miner's offhand; sold it for scrap to cover the disgrace :0

So during final crafting, I will most definitely stick to Seafood stew, while for just material, onion soup is fine.

Btw, did you meld control IV to the pants and boots? I couldn't justify my hard earned gil for that 1 extra craftsmanship -_- ; I used CUNNING IV, Control III * 4...

Wow, that's impressive! I just started to craft a bit of 2* items but for now it's only main hand tools and some jewelry. I would craft the entire sets too but my armory chest is already full as it is. >_<
If you don't mind I am going to save that melds sheet so I can have a reference while melding. :3

Looks like you forgot Inner Quiet until after 3 failed Hasties. I have done that before too, and NQ-ed a crafted mat that way which ended my HQ streak, LOL! It's quite easy to forget IQ after bashing our heads on Flawless Syn.

Aww, sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident. Although, when your craftsmanship has reached 832, I would recommend using Baked Onion Soup HQ instead. This because 832 + 28 = 860. With this much craftsmanship, it allows another extra FS fail / Trick of Trade during MaMa phase, and you only need 1070 progress for Rath's Rotation. The 2 CP from soup is totally OK to sacrifice in this case. From my experience, I found 469 CP to be a good amount (which means you need CP coming from both mainhand and offhand). So you don't actually need the maxed 472 CP from Seafood Stew HQ.

As for the pants and boots, at first for my specialist class, I maxed them all completely:

But then doing this to all 8 classes is simply impractical... so i started doing this:

You dont need that 2 craftsmanship from the pants and boots to reach the sweet spot of 832 craft. And sacrificing 1 control per item has barely any impact.

Your choice of Cunning IV, Command III x4 is totally fine too. It might be even cheaper than my way of melding depending on your luck and the price of those Command III.

Keep in mind that the offhand is actually a better upgrade than the mainhand. This is because offhand upgrades from i140 to i170, while mainhand is from i150 to i170. So you get more stats boost by making the offhands first. And the offhands require slightly less mats as well. Mainhand is good for "show" though!

Yeah my armory chest is sooooo full right now. It gives me headache! LOL! But to finally see all 8 classes all having a unique look is all worth it (especially with dyeable versions... I simply couldn't let myself buy that undyeable i180)!

Feel free to save that reference table. No worries!
I have melding samples in my Heavensward Crafting Guide Ch 38 too if you need further info:
