Suggestion:hide own name

I made a thread about this in another subforum - I didn't realize this thread existed. Yes, this should definitely be implemented. I hate having my (long) name right in the middle of the screen, serving no purpose but an ugly distraction. Often I turn off all names, only because I want my name off. I imagine this would be a very quick addition to the game.

Not to mention - the fact our names spaz out shake violently when going up or down slopes would be another selling point to add this feature.

it would be helpful if we could hide the following parts

1) name
2) hp bar (just your own, we dont need 2)
3) LS shield
4) bazaar check

but leave our enmity icon above our heads but have the option to hide that too.

obviously all these would need to be hidden localy and not globaly like /head display off blah blah blah.

Remove name plate of us asap. In fact i think is no need to a toogle option for this. For sure a ttogle dont hurts. Bt if it represent more dev time to do it. Just skip it and remove it asap. Really. Who needs a name plate remeberng his own name? And for bazzar and repair icon meaby in the status bar?

The only other MMO I have played is FFXI. Do other MMOs have this feature? For years I wondered why I couldn't turn off my own name in FFXI (or why it was ever there in the first place). In FFXIV, it bothers me a lot more. I want to turn the damn thing off.

Is there a psychological reason they don't implement this or something? Do they believe seeing our name take up the middle of the screen all day long make us feel more connected to our character and keeps us playing? I don't know what the reason is, but they need to add this feature quickly. They already have a full window for "name" options, which is currently just 'everything on' or 'everything off', I am sure adding a middle option to the slider would not be an issue.

Of course, knowing SE, the first implementation of this would require 7 pop-up windows to turn the name off and on.

other mmo's do have this, section 8 prejudice a online shooter has it, as does legue of legends i do belive
