I actually like the scion gear for the males and will happily pay the $8 it goes for. In fact I already bought Urianger's or however you spell his name gear last month. Buying Thancred's gear this month and am thinking about buying the Papalymo's gear next month.

They keep making easy cash grabs like this, yet continue to cite things like "lack of resources" or "server limitations" as answers to our complaints.

I don't mind a cash shop with vanity items... but it's annoying to see overpriced, zero-effort stuff like this when they won't give us more inventory space, proper instanced systems for housing, or find fixes to any of the other big problems (that other MMOs don't seem to have trouble overcoming).

The only things I would buy on the mogstation would be FFT job costumes.
PLD-Knight, WAR-Geomancer, DRK-DRK, WHM-WHM, SCH-Calculator, AST-Mystic, MNK-MNK, DRG-DRG, NIN-NIN, BRD-BRD/Dancer, MCH-Orator, BLM-BLM, SMN-SMN.
Make it happen SE, I would pay $80 for them, and not only male costumes like TO. Mustadio and Olan are MCH/AST, but not job.

I was pleased and surprised when I learned you could "gift" these items to other people, too. I mean, I don't foresee myself buying any of these for myself, but I know at least one person who would be absolutely thrilled to get a red magitek.

Tumblr blogs also use them as prizes. Cheaper than sending out physical goods (I just dropped nearly $30 to the first place winner of my 1000 followers giveaway with the 2015 Glamour Book), and instant.

I'll probably not buy them for a very, very long time, but truth be told? I'm fine with them. You get a black one from completing the ARR MSQ, you get a gold one from getting 500 Commendations... the ONLY problem I see with this is that it is not an account unlock like Sleipnir is. That's it.
