When did I ever say that you should get stuff for free?
Or that you are "a douche bag elitist who wants to have things, so other people can't have them"?
I just said that everything is being more excess-able so more people can play.
Sadly, catering to a select group of "Hardcore" players just isn't equitable for companies.
I can understand wanting more in-depth game play but taking out your frustration over gaming companies trying to cater more people and going on an anti-casual-gamer rant just doesn't help your case one bit.

I wasn't aware that fundamental RPG elements were considered "Hardcore".

Companies trying to cater to more people. Eg milk more money is just another example of the art metas destruction. Just like Justin Bieber, Just like Honey Boo Boo and just like Ancient Aliens. Catering to the mindless masses.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE glamour.

But glamour is NOT gameplay. Why should I even bother upgrading my gear when it will be worthless and easily replaceable within a couple of months? Why should I bother learning my rotation when the accepted community standard is mediocrity at best.

I have NEVER played a game where I've sat AFK in the middle of a city for so long doing nothing.

End game is basically pointless. Coil was interesting. It felt like yeah maybe this is going some where. Maybe this gear is worth something. Then coil 2 came out, Ok ill go with it. Then coil 3.. its getting sort of repetetive. Then Alexander, and its the exact same thing reskinned and I wont even bother with it.

Nobody seems to care about the lack of actual content in this game. You can argue you can lvl alts, you can craft, you can gather. In EVERY other MMO I've EVER played, crafting, gathering and leveling an alt is side stuff. Not the meat of the game.

20+ threads within 4 pages dedicated to Glamour/Vanity.

So obviously Glamour is more important to the community than Puzzles, Meaningful Challenges, Quests, Story, Skill Mastery.

MMO forums used to be littered with stat builds, equipment guides.

None of that is here. None of it will be because all anyone wants is Bunny ears for Men and Lightnings outfit

Yeah despite the scifi elements in this game, I don't think the tone would mesh very well.

Probably because asking for better features, changes to existing, different design choices for endgame and dungeons... etc etc, anything that'll be bigger than adding some new glamours (and even then) is usually ignored or met with #server/data/ps3 limitations, maybe a "looking into it" if lucky, which usually ends in nothing.

Just an observation of course.

Edit; Now I've read responses, I'm glad to know more than a few also see this as a (not the) reason why more meaningful requests don't appear.

Half the threads I see here are people asking for glamour, asking for mounts, asking for Lightning Returns, returns, returns again. Asking for Star Wars cross over events. Kingdom Hearts.

Asking for more NPC glamour. Asking for mounts to fly.

Is this game seriously Fashion Fantasy 14? Is that all these casuals care about is playing dress up with dolly?

Glamour is great but come on seriously. Is that ALL the community is concerned with?

To be fair, there have been a number of Lightning Returns threads.

But to be fairer, there's constantly balance and endgame discussion threads. Hey there's even a PVP balance thread going on right now. So yeah I don't get where "ALL the community is concerned with" comes from.

I dunno, I spent a good chunk of last evening trying to find the best color combination for this MNK getup.

Official party functions like Thordan EX is still for the NIN for now, but the idea of switching depends on a lot of things. Thankfully, glamour isn't one of them.
