As for the argument of different set ups only gives the "illusion of choice". I played a WAR/THF back in FFXI when WAR/NIN was the flavour of the month and I rocked that.

I played a Frost DK in WoW back when Unholy was the go to, and I rocked it.

The number crunchers can say all the crap they want about whats optimal, but when there is choice, there is still choice and there is always room for improvement.

Yeah it is, there was a guy complaining the other day about diadem being worthless because you cant glamour the gear, lets just ignore the fact diadem made all gear obsolete.
The forums are a cesspool for casuals who RP or only care about glamour. Run while you can

And ranting on the forums for ONE video game that has little impact on the western entertainment meta does nothing to further your point. Your being argumentative and negative, the game is meant to be enjoyed in numerous fashions and some of them entail collecting and sharing achievements. It's not hurting you. There are LOTS of players who participate in varying areas of the forums and or never deal with glamour. You're having a super strong case of confirmation bias.

Just enjoy the game the way you want to, if people doing that for themselves upsets you... Well, you might want to consider not using the Internet. I personally don't watch television because it bores me. Makes great nap time background sound though.

I can make you a list of mmos that don't have glamour, collectible mounts, or the other features you seem casual, if that'll make your day better. I've played a lot.

Glamour is part of end game least for crafters why else would they put a item that sole purpose is nothing but glamour as a level 60 2 star recipe.

The only actual "new" content we've gotten since ARR has been Diadem and Lords of Verminion. Everything else is just a reskinned clone. Hunts. Tomes. Pointless raids.

I 100% agree with OP on some of this stuff.

I want to improve the job and role I play I don't even care if I have to spend days or weeks if it means I can get an item that will improve me.

Right now all we have is the item levels which mean nothing not because of the diadem but because we will have higher item level gear in 3.2 at this point they mind as well save us the trouble and just give us items to increase the item lvl and stats on our AF2 gear instead of designing new tome gear.


I don't know why people would pay a sub just to play dress up.

Pretty much the only community rep posts web gotten is about glamour.

There's a lot of good ideas for content on the forums but they barely get threw because of the language barrier.
