Its just... really really aggravating to see someone even think to suggest something as stupid as a Star Wars FFXIV mash-up event. All these threads about minions and glamours.
Thats not what Final Fantasy is about.

never considered, that the community asked for a progression like this ?I'd care more about raids if they provided more than bragging rights/glamour. I did raid from first coil to t12 before I decided it wasn't worth it to me. Gear progression is just too fast paced for my liking.
So unless they start to make gear last for around 6 months, I do care more about the "silly things" and will be happy in my tome gear.
its sad to be said but i think we got what we deserve, the community kept complaining SOOOOO hard on content, that SE had to do something to satisfy people, and easiest was ... glamour ...
Theres more content that can be created than just raids.I'd care more about raids if they provided more than bragging rights/glamour. I did raid from first coil to t12 before I decided it wasn't worth it to me. Gear progression is just too fast paced for my liking.

Open World PVP (probably a terrible idea but fathomable)
Over world bosses, open world dungeons, a revision of Diadem, solo dungeons and boss content, a truly well-done revision of the materia system allowing meaningful and unique enhancements on equipment, adjustments to play style, implementation of a skill tree.
It feels like this game caters entirely to casuals. I mean like... Bejewelled, Flappy Bird kinda casuals. Not the "I have a job casual".

Some of us like to forget about the horrors we experience in DF and other things. We'd rather talk about glamour and other things that don't make us want to hide and never run anything again, or so I would assume.
Yeah I don't think many people understand that someone can enjoy the play style of MMORPG combat but dislike being forced to be sociable with people they don't like.
I'm seriously at a point lately where I just really don't like anybody I run into. I've left 3 FCs. I just want to play my game. Not dress up.
It's like what Zojha and Colorful said, there are topics about gameplay and content (in there respected areas on the forums) but they're usually ignored by both players and devs/reps, turn into huge pissing wars, go off topic, people make there own threads about the topic, etc etc etc.
Plus, glamour is just an easier topic to grab people's attention and is easier for the devs to make versus designing new component to the game.
And you'll find thread after thread about all of those subjects. You also might want to cut back on using "casuals" as an epithet; it's insulting to players who don't raid 24/7. I'd be a lot more receptive to your arguments if I didn't feel you were blaming your woes on "casuals". If you have a legitimate beef with the direction of the game, detail it, make rational arguments, and above all don't rant. Ranting is the surest way of having your complaints ignored by the community.Theres more content that can be created than just raids.

What part of "ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu
R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" don't you understand?
They'd need to create new servers or other areas.
Hunts.Over world bosses,
So, the Diadem?open world dungeons, a revision of Diadem,
What?solo dungeons and boss content,
No, that's the illusion of choice. The vast majority of players will simply go to the mathematically determined best skill and gear set.a truly well-done revision of the materia system allowing meaningful and unique enhancements on equipment, adjustments to play style, implementation of a skill tree.
How's that Alex Savage clear going? It feels like this game caters entirely to casuals. I mean like... Bejewelled, Flappy Bird kinda casuals. Not the "I have a job casual".
I don't raid at all in HW. Aside from Primals EX. I cleared all of Coil pre echo and have no desire to do the exact same thing again. You also might want to cut back on using "casuals" as an epithet; it's insulting to players who don't raid 24/7. When I say casuals. As I said, I mean the Bejewelled, Flappy Bird, Angry Birds, Minecraft crowd. Those casuals. The pay microtransactions for everything, to unlock some special little thing, instant gratification crowd. The ones who just want to log in and be like "Look at me I'm a shiny bad ass guy with a sword. I dont give a damn about Final Fantasy lore or lolelitesttooltips
