Yoshida already said no to this request, something along the lines of "If we had enough server space, we'd prefer to add more inventory"... But considering WoW, Wildstar, LoTRO(?) and DCUO can do it, I feel like he's being dishonest.

Adding more inventory space, which is what people are asking, to allow people to collect item (just for glamour) isn't a viable solution to solve this kind of problem, gear collection.

What I'm suggesting to remove the item from your inventory completely in the case where you only want to keep this item for glamour reason, thus reducing the load on the item server, in exchange to a check list to acquire the glamour only from that item where you will never be able to equip the item and use it normally unless you go and acquire the item and use it normally.

I'm aware of what you're suggesting, but Yoshida's exact words were that this would take the same server space and strain as more inventory would. A glamour log was asked about in the recent Live Letter I believe.

Perhaps not entirely dishonest but, maybe, just unable to handle this.... which I'm not really ruling out, seeing how they're unable to handle a normal housing system that's not convoluted (subwards really?). Also something many other MMOs, even the shabby f2p ones seem to have mastered a decade ago.

I'd honestly hope his team isn't that incompetent, maybe it's an underlying problem from the competent team of 1.0 that they could never fix?

Could be but, whatever the case, they still keep putting in some antiquated systems which often are of questionable design choice (9 currencies currently in the game, just off the top of my head).

There's one thing we can be sure of, though. Their servers/database can't handle stuff like more housing, FSH bait boxes and in this case a glamour log, which is what I'm perhaps most bothered with considering how big a bahemoth SE is, to be short on server space.
