Do we want FFXI glamor items?

Check out the level 50 item level 110 tank and drg sets (Wootz).

Indeed, the Wootz set in FFXIV is actually FFXI's Koenig's armour under a different name (and it's dyeable!). I use the Wootz cuirass (dyed metallic silver) as my PLD glamour as it was my favourite armour in FFXI:


One FFXI set that I would love to see in FFXIV though is the Novennial outfit from one of the earlier FFXI 'Adventurer Appreciation' events - the women's bodice especially would go beautifully with the Spring Skirt! (For some reason skirts mostly didn't exist in FFXI -_-):

Where's the Usukane and Morrigan set? I thought we were on a roll with the last two sets they put in the game. Even gave me hope we might have the sky god set since they put koenig in. I want my Kirin's Osode Square -_-

I was going to include more (especially wanted to include the Amir set from assault), but I felt that I was running out of steam, and also that I might have been starting to sound long-winded.

The more FFXI gear, the merrier! I'm of course very biased, but a lot of the older gear sets in the game had some cool designs that would look great in XIV, especially if they're given a little extra detail, the way the wootz armors were. If I could wear the Homam gear I would definitely be in heaven.

What if, for the next 24-man raid, they had sets of FFXI gear? I think that'd be pretty awesome, and I would definitely keep running it to try and get 'em all!

I meant to include in the post that I have seen a few items that look similar, and I know I've seen two that are actual replicas of the Koenig and Ares gear.

Anyway, that being said. Nostalgia pieces aren't a bad thing, without XI there wouldn't be XIV.
There are already a lot of nostalgia in this game, so why not add more?

I want "shorts" like Haidate. I'm so sick of tights for females.

I loved hecatomb harness, and the boots, not so much the entire set.
Honestly, i'd love boots like those.

They had some pretty awesome looking sets as the game progressed too.

I never played FFXI but a lot of the equipment looks pretty cool. I'd like to see more of it added to FFXIV - and upgraded visually in the process. More options are a good thing.

FFXI Job Artifact Sets - I know a lot of them looked a bit dopey, but it'd be cool to be able to mix and match them a bit. Also, what happened to the THF AF-ish armor we see in the Rogue quests?

You can put most of the THF-looking set together using crafted items, though the hat isn't quite right (substituting a dyed lower level hat can make it work). But I agree, some of the old FFXI AF was beautiful and it would look great in XIV. After the feeling of getting my WHM AF legs in XI I felt pretty disappointed when the XIV version was a pair of white boxer shorts and some go-go boots.

One of the aesthetic choices I liked in XI was that simple tunics like those in the Noble's and Seer's sets had very ornate designs, which made them look luxurious even with the game's unsophisticated models. Because my XIV character is quite tall a lot of the impact from some of the plainer outfits is lost stretched across his endless shoulders. The more elaborate robes look fantastic. I'd like to see us getting more robes and tunics like that. And basically anything from Aht Urhgan because all of those cultural influences led to some gorgeous outfits.

Or maybe create FFXIV unique and new glamours so the next Online FF (if ever one) will want from us. Too much recycled old FF content in this game.

They're both "Wootz" sets for tank and DRG. Level 50, item level 110, old 4-star crafted stuff.
