How do you make a tank angry as a DPS?

If I have any ranged or dot based dos in the group I expect to see lots of aoe. When I am cycling mobs and don't see the smn using bane I will ask them to. There's is no reason to take a dps loss because they are worried about getting aggro.

I let the dps run mobs. The tank is to hold aggro. I can just cycle over to the one that they are burning down quicker. All the mobs show up on my aggro list, but sometimes not theirs(melee).

Like i can understand below lv40 but....at lv50+???!!?!??!

I wont even get mad if the dude is undergeared and can't aggro because of it and even apologize for taking aggro, but the moment the tank starts marking mobs its like "AWH HEK NAW"

I'm sure you're not the only one offended. If you start going 'your way' and not waiting for the Tank to establish and maintain aggro, and you make it that you attack a different mob than the Tank, you are asking for it.

DPS is simple play. We wipe, the blame is on either the Tank or Healer.

I see so many BRD not putting their fires, not using Rain of Death on AoE, BLM not fully knowing their boom-boom-boom rotation, SMN not using Shadow Flare continuously..

Every type of player lives in this game. All we need to do is to adapt. If not, you communicate how to get it done, or if after the first boss, you can't kill the second one after 4-5 attempts.. it's time to Vote Abandon.

So being nice to them (Tank, Healer, Other Players ^^ ) can make the run smooth and it goes a long way, no matter the iLvl

If by any chance I end up with u in a dungeon u can be sure I will mark even boss with big "1" above his head.

I take that as an insult too, regardless of what level the dungeon is. I was able to keep aggro on mobs with PLD and WAR from 15-50, or 60 in WARs case. There's no reason to mark in dungeons.

And then you go to Nevearreap, paired with DPS who can't kill the bees despite their oh-hardly-earned i190 set. Then yes, you start marking.

I remember marking was the thing to do back in the day. Hell, you were pretty much chastised by other folks if you didn't mark. Then all of a sudden, without warning...

BAM!

I remember getting yelled at during my first ever Hull breaker run as a PLD when I was marking things. I wasn't a forum reader back then, so it was expected in my circle of friends at least, to be marking stuff. xD
Sudden changed shocked me back then, thinking: "Wait, when did this start happening?!?" lol

I am insulted by this due to the fact that you are insulted that marking mobs is an insult to marking. By marking the mob you are insulting the mob making them feel bad, and that makes me a sad panda. We should be marking ALL the mobs equally like marking them all with a "1" so no one is left out.

When a dps and healer gets an add for whatever reason and runs around the room thinking the add isnt gonna kill them, instead you should be running it to the tank so I dont cleave the party. This is one of my biggest peaves. People, your still gonna get hit lol.

Rightfully so. Playing as a team is a skill, which you have yet to master.

problem with alot of dps- is they think their job is JUST dps, its also managing your agro as well.
