Git Gud.Yeah yeah system limitations, git gud, whatever. The Zerg is too much, I can't even see 3 people let alone ANY of them mobs. How is this acceptable, either make it work or stop compatiblity with PS3, I'm paying for this game to not work for me, when I could be saving up for a PS4 to work in the future... Just kill it.
Git PS4 or PC.
Git a job. If $15 a month is breaking your wallet, PS5 will be out by the time you save enough.
They're dropping PS3 updates in 4.0 wish granted

PS4 may have a graphics overhaul, but the games are a piece of crap unless you love pixalated ones and lack of backwards compatibility. Black Ops 3 is a disappointment, GTA5 works as it should but just a remake, infact theres more remakes than games, MGS5 is a good game but konami effed shet up for everyone giving us an undercooked game that still manages to be good but leaves a sour taste, Little Big Planet 3 met the same fate being rushed out when it was clearly not finished giving less new features other than new characters and a story, Fallout 4 has bugs still apparently using the same engine as before, you cant play music on your ps4 without a flashdrive of sorts, cant play your own videos unless taken from the internet (no downloads though), too much social media app bs, Controller is a pain in the ass even after 2 years (i recently took it apart and repaired the triggers myself), getting disconnected once from the internet will force you out of the Ps4 and you can do anything unless you completely turn it off and re-sign in to play online again.
Shame yoshi didn't keep his promise from 1.0 (I recall him promising about supporting PS3 for the game) and FFXI was easily functional on the PS2. Maybe if the graphics could be tuned down more on the PS3 it would help alot more, graphics isn't everything imo. Unless its on a highend system, in which case keep 15 bit games off my PS4. -_- Still looking forward to FFXV and Kingdom Hearts though. >_>

You're still able to use your PS4 when it's offline, that was intended for the Xbox One system but removed from the rather huge backlash they suffered from it. Yoshida did keep his promise, and that was bring FFXIV to the PS3. Is it on the PS3? Definitely is. You just can't expect him to hold down an entire game because of the few people still using what could be considered a technological relic at this point. He stated that PS3 would be supported throughout 3.0, and then they were unsure about the future going from there. I don't recall him ever claiming that it would be supported through ARR's entire life, that would be silly. As for your FFXI comparison, the PS2 was released a mere 2 years before FFXI, it was rather new and had relatively powerful hardware at the time. FFXIV came out 6-7 years after the PS3, where it was an already incredibly outdated system, the difference is quite clear.
Edit: Unless you mean the promise that 1.0 would arrive on consoles, in which Yoshida wasn't in charge, or even on the development team until late into 1.0's cycle, no? He did eventually fulfill that promise with 2.0 though.

When I said you couldn't do anything when the Ps4 goes offline, I meant anything online related. It bugs out making it impossible to reconnect without completely restarting your console (or maybe its just me but I heard a few others complaining about it too). As for the promise thing I didn't have too many details on that and I appreciate it clearing that up for me. FFXIV could still work on Ps3 if they manage to lower the graphics more. I played on the Ps3 and the only issues I had were multiple effects going on at the same time causing unsee-able crap and enemies and party members weren't a priority to be seen first which caused unplayabilty at times. I always wondered if I could just turned down all the graphics by a buttload like the PC it would run tons better but we didn't get those options. I could be wrong but SE never tried. :/You're still able to use your PS4 when it's offline, that was intended for the Xbox One system but removed from the rather huge backlash they suffered from it. Does the PC on low look any worse than FFXIV on PS3 with everything turned down? That's as low as FFXIV gets on PC, and any lower would likely require they devote more resources into making more options just for a dated system. I know it has a rather low resolution too.
Low - Low 2
Maximum - Maximum 2
Props to whoever manages to play it on PS3 if it looks worse than low, I coudln't even manage without HBAO+ now, let alone on very low with low FPS. :x

It can actually. Shadows could be turned off, textures can be tuned down alot more than Ps3 can, fps can be adjusted, distance can be adjusted, theres a bit more but its ben a while since I played on my laptop. I'll give an update soon.
For the HBAO+ thing, I rely on gameplay over graphics if they can be adjusted.
HBAO+ has a very minimal impact on your FPS for the visual difference it brings, around 1-3 FPS on my card. I built my current rig a few years back to get the best of both though, I value gameplay more, but graphics do make the experience undoubtedly better for me. FFXIV's gameplay isn't exactly revolutionary.![]()
