More possibilities for gobcoat, gobtwine and gobdip

    Hi there,
one week after 3.1, I noticed a change around me. Some of my friends stopped playing, some of my friends stopped raiding. The main reason: the Diadem and its flood of i210 items which can be potentially BiS (with RNG/time). It makes (almost) all the other content useless for gear progression.

I think it would be good to propose to the players some alternative ways to get competitive gear without the Diadem. At the moment, if you refuse this, the only way to get i210 gear are:
    - doing Alex savage, gated by weekly lockout.
    - turn an i200 ESO part to i210 using a gobcoat/twine/dip. Gated by alex savage weekly lockout, Void Ark token weekly lockout. Possible to have an infinite number of gobcoat/twine if we farm the Hunt. But it's boring as hell...

As it is now, Alex normal is almost dead, and Void Ark will follow soon (kinda useless to farm it, just do it once a week for the token is enough).

In order to change this, I propose the following:

    - Alex normal right side (and belt) prototype -> regular upgrade with two gobcoats. i190 -> i210. Gain: allow people who are not raiding to get other i210 items than the ESO ones and the pinks from the Diadem. Make sure people are still doing Alex normal.

    - Void Ark belt upgrade with gobcoat. i200 -> i210. Gain: allow more optimization without farming stupidly the Diadem... Make sure people are doing Void Ark more than once a week.

    - Alex normal left side prototype -> regular upgrade with two gobtwines. i190 -> i210. Gain: allow people who are not raiding to get other i210 items than the ESO ones and the pinks from the Diadem. Make sure people are still doing Alex normal.

    - Void Ark other items upgrade with gobcoat. i200 -> i210. Gain: allow more optimization without farming stupidly the Diadem... Make sure people are doing Void Ark more than once a week.

    - Thordan Ex weapons upgrade with gobdip. i205 -> i210. Gain: keep raiders groups who already cleared A4S continuing upgrade through secondary stats.

As you can see, these proposals are beneficial for all the kinds of players: casual, hardcore, raider, non-raider. It makes more choice for gears and makes people keep going on the "old" contents.
What do you think? Good idea? Bad idea?

Won't help. Whatever becomes BiS will become the thing to them. The only way to alleviate that would be to give everything the exact same stats and then you'll have people complaining all the stats are the same and there's no variation. Though if different classes get their BiS from different places that might be able to fix the problem. Might.

I still support anyway because variety is the spice of life.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

    1) It's ESO, not Iso.
    2) The lockouts you mentioned are on the upgrade items themselves. Making more things to use the upgrade items on won't alleviate the problem in the least. The problem isn't that you can't get the ESO gear to upgrade, it's that it's far easier to farm for the 210 drops from Diadem, than it is to upgrade one ESO item a week from Void Ark, and certainly more so than doing Savage to get upgrades....

Personally, I say they need to decrease the drop rates on the 210 Diadem gear, or set stat caps on them that put them just below the Savage and ESO gear. Doing both would be even better.....

I don't think they should make it easier to farm the upgrade items for ESO gear however, as the problem is currently that it's too easy to get almost entirely 210 gear drops. We need the system reigned back a bit more, so that getting the highest end gear takes a lot of time and effort. I would however support some other upgrade item for Void Ark and Alex Normal gear that puts them at i205, with said upgrade item being a farmable drop from Void Ark.....

I kinda see what you're trying to do there, while I doubt we will see the void arc/Alex nm gear become upgradeable in any capacity I think you're right about needing other ways to get gobtwine\coat other than hunts.
I suggest that they use the quest "gift of the arcmagius" now that they have implemented poet upgrades to Rowenas it's not needed anymore and could revive CT (insert people whining no more CT)

Queue times for Alex Normal are pretty quick. (Healer so may vary). I enjoyed Diadem my first two rounds now... ugh not thank you. I'll go when my FC wants to do it but bleh.

    not that bad really
the grinding is getting more and more refined can get 10+ gold chests per run easily now and considering you can get more than one mistbreak in a gold chest and sometimes you get mistbreak in a silver chest.

the groups i go with tend to get 2-3 better than gordian items per session on top of the giant pile of super good alt gear and token turn ins for top end crafting gear

    She's right.

On a hard mode diadem, iv gotten 17 210 items in one run. Most were meh ofc. But 3 of them were brokenly overpowered Stat wise. It's pretty easy to gear up in there.

Out of 8 Diadem runs, 4 easy, 4 mediums, I've seen maybe 10 i210 items drop *at all*. 2 were caster items (I went as SMN), but since I wasn't with a premade, someone without the class got the item.

So far I got a i210 garbage 'of slaying' earrings, and i210 decent DRG pants. My Lancer is lv 25.

You're unlikely to get anything above 180 on an easy run, and if you've only done 4 normal runs, and not as a premade, you're probably not trying to farm these items. More so, it's the people who go in with FCs in Hard runs that can just ridiculously farm the items, as o3o stated above you. Even just getting three "good" ones out of 17 total in a single run, that's three times as many in one run as you can get per week from doing ESO upgrades from Void Ark. Even if it's not something that everyone can realistically do frequently, that's still a huge difference since players with four or five hours of play time per day could potentially get full 210 equips minus the weapon in just a couple of days if they got lucky. That's a clear indicator that the Diadem is incredibly broken compared to the Gobtwine and Gobdip ESO upgrade system.....
