I might be wrong but something I seem to remember them doing was upping the cap of one of the previous capped currencies to 900 a week at about this stage? That would be nice if its not going to uncap. I really disliked the diadem and my play time is fairly limited so eso works for me.

This. All these caps and lockouts are okay if you play only one job, but if you play more... tough luck. I would like to gear up at least one tank, one healer and one dps at the same time.

Not to mention that we are stuck with caps and lockouts long after the gear had been introduced which is really ineffective system.

I would take Eso farm over Diadem farm any day.

making good i200 gear infinitely accessable could mean higher savage clear rates, seeing as ppl could try different combination during progression. atm most groups are limited by having to go with their chosen main, which likely spend all eso on. Though with eso gear being upgradeable (and thanks to hunts you can get as many upgrade items as you can grind) I'd rather consider uncapping void ark. that will also keep the ark relevant over the whole week.
that would lead to a max iLv of 194 (196 if you can beat Thordan) without spending any eso on gear or having to get into alex. not too bad imo, without overpowering the players

I'm about to get my very first eso item after playing hardcore crafter/gatherer for months. I doubled my total eso purely because of Diadem (and all my previous eso was from treasure maps - I just don't like dungeons/trials much). However, even though them removing the cap would benefit me immensely and I certainly won't mind them doing it... I don't think it is warranted just because of Diadem having i210 gear. I don't think it's warranted at all... yet.

    Patience. It'll happen.

Poetics being increased in that manner was only because of Heavenswards release drawing closer and closer as the gear itself was to become just leveling / glamour gear from that point on.

As for the Diadem being a reason to uncap Eso tomes discussion, Diadem's is too luck based as sure a 210 piece can drop, but you gotta hope it's for your class as well hope it's not just a ilevel boost when in reality it's a downgrade stat wise unlike Eso which has set in stone stats. So, it's highly unlikely anything about Eso's cap will be changed before 2.3 (which is when I assume the new tomes and big bad raid will be released.)

Did Diadem yesterday, spent the whole 90 minutes in it. Got nothing for my time, and found it to be an incredibly boring experience. After half time most my party left, so was left unable to get credit on the really big chaps.

Never running that shit again lol. Raids and Dungeons seem to be far more effective, Diadem just feels like a bad attempt at a time sink. Was expecting at least a token for vendor's or something by the end.

Maybe if they get some type of RNG into obtaining eso gears

If they remove Eso cap now, people are not going to do Diadem then. They can just buy all the Eso gears that look physically better and then upgrade them to 210.

That is why i said they should do obtaining eso gears less guaranteed. Like a 25% chance that a boss don't give you eso tomes, but dark matter 6 (1.x style).
Or add random secondary stats on them. And you can only see them after obtaining it.

I wish they would remove the cap just to see if "people will quit cause they have no gear left to get" is actually true. I don't think time gating gear is going to prevent people from quitting at all. Just force them to chose one or two jobs to play instead of any.

All they need to do is keep Tome gear 5-10 ilvls lower then highest raid tier gear available at the time and ppl will be able to gear up all their alts and continue striving for highest raid gear.

If nothing else, gating tome gear just makes it difficult for new or casual players to make the shift into raiding. Yes, believe it or not, there are GOOD casual players out there that like to raid when/if they can. We are just slower at moving through content and/or don't play as much. That doesn't mean we should be time gated though. I think diadem was put in to alleviate the struggle somewhat but some things never change I guess.

If crafting gear would somehow remain atleast somewhat relavent 10-20ilvls lower than highest raid tier? That would be cool to but crafters haven't had much luck. I blame overmelding. If they had never implemented advanced melding, craftable gears would be closer ilvl wise to top tier.

So much to say about gear, sorry I said all my thoughts in this thread, not all of it was even relevant to topic.
