    This is...so lame.....can't people think of their own names? I will forever wonder why people copy names from somewhere else (books, TV shows...you name it). Just shows they have no imagination....

    A choice to wallow in their complete and utter lack of imagination. I don't roleplay, but I thought for a few seconds about my name. I wanna say "at least it's better than all the Cloud' Strife' characters running around" but by volume it sure doesn't feel like it.

    Also posts like OP's are why I detest the word "epic" now.

    Well seeing that this is the first FF game i've played I don't know much of the lore. And I don't remember reading somewhere that I have to have an original name. People can copy from other places it's a damn game get over yourself.

    People's reactions seem to have a lot more to do with the popularity and expectations of the average fan than the simple fact that the name came from somewhere else though. As an example from just FF games...

    If you name your character Sephiroth Jenova, most people are going to have a negative reaction.

    On the other hand, if you name your character Reis Dular, most people who recognize it are going to have a more positive reaction.
