My Concerns/Ideas for the Pet Glamour System

Personally I don't care about having new Egis, I just want the glamour system out and functional.

They won't even confirm it for 3.1 ... It makes me very sad.

Well the glamour system are how these new Egi are being implemented, so they are one and the same. I would love some new info on it also, alas I think it is safe to say we won't see it until around 3.3 at least, especially if they are added in bulk. But I don't mind waiting longer for them, at least they are coming.

EDIT: as for an additional HW primal, we already have one. the king. King is tank, bismark is caster, ravana is melee. No?

Yeah the "King" is a possibility, of course Alexander is another potential candidate and would suit the Tank role well.

To be honest I'm disappointed in what they are doing with the summoner. Personally I'd like to go away with the "Egi's" completely and redesign the class to be more spell based like the all other Final Fantasy titles besides XI. If they want to keep the "pet" idea please make the class a real minion master one. The current pets are poorly designed, generic, and barely do any of your damage. Though I understand to an extent why they aren't making more "Egis" I think it is also a lazy way out of the design hole they dug themselves in. The summoner in this game doesn't feel like something out of Final Fantasy sadly. I wouldn't mind giving them the time to completely redesign the job. I think it would be better in the end. Sorry to anyone who likes this DoTs "Summoner." My personal opinion is it doesn't live up to its heritage or the initial hype when announced.

If SE doesn't do this I hope at the very least they let you glamor any "Egi" with any primal skin (there are many ways to make it clear to others which one you are actually using). Also adding more power to Egis in future patches/expansions instead of DoTs spells.

I agree 100000%. Summoners should either be:

1) A completely pet-based job with a wide array of pets.

2) A burst class, with spell animations/names that invoke the IMAGE of the primals (like basically every ability being like Dreadwyrm stance).

Right now it's just a hodgepodge of both, which is underwhelming. 3 pets (only 2 of which you'll ever use) and 1 spell that invokes the image of a primal.

I share that same fear. I don't want them to just cheese out on this glamour system...but I don't want it to be TOO restricting at the same time.
